We’re back! The next kids’ comedy open mic will be on a new day of the week, SUNDAY November 8th! We cannot wait!

As usual, the FAQs:

What’s the age range?
Anyone under 18! Generally speaking, kiddos in attendance have ranged in age from about 7-12, but all are welcome.

Does my kiddo need to show up with a memorized tight 5?
Absolutely not. If they have any jokes they’ve written, awesome. If they want to do something else, like an impression, roast their parents, lead the crowd in Mad Libs, read jokes from a joke book, that is all welcome and encouraged. I’ll also offer kids the opportunity to be interviewed and perhaps some other improv-style games, so zero preparation is plenty of preparation. The idea is just to have fun, build confidence, and get comfortable holding a microphone!

Will strangers be watching?
Nope! Victoria’s Diner recently underwent a renovation and the back room is now an event space designated as Sugar Kane Alley. Only the kids and adults attending the mic will be present.

Where is this place?
Victoria’s Diner is located at 1024 Massachusetts Ave, Boston MA 02118

Can I order food?
You bet your bottom dollar! Victoria’s offers a full menu during the event.

Where can I park?
There is a small parking lot at the venue, and plenty of parking at the commuter rail station across the street.

Can I get there by MBTA?
Yes! It is accessible by several bus lines, located across the street from the Newmarket Commuter Rail stop, and a 19 minute walk from the Andrew stop on the red line.

My kiddo wants to come! Do I have to RSVP?
If you know your kiddo is interested, I would love it if you’d fill out the google form in my bio. But if you forget? No sweat! Feel free to just show up!

I have more questions! What do I do?

We had a fantastic time at the Kiddin’ Around mic this weekend! A couple of wonderful newcomers and a few returning vets made for a super fun afternoon. If you have or know any funny kids, please do bring them out - only two of our comics brought prepared material, the rest got up for would-you-rather interviews, and everybody had a great time getting comfortable on the mic, building confidence and just talking in front of people. It is such a joy watching kids discover how much fun funny can be. ❤️ A million thanks to @sugarkanealley and @victoriasdiner for welcoming us into their incredibly cool space, and to their incredible staff for being so kind to the kiddos & families. Stay tuned for the next date!
