This month’s collage theme for July: TRAIN TICKETS 🎫

A new month means a new prompt for Letters We Never Sent: Love Anthology collage collective ✨

This July, we’re collecting analog collages inspired by train tickets, bus tickets, receipts, and other collages inspired by bus or train journeys—whether they’re literal, nostalgic, imagined, found, or used as a jumping-off point. Interpret the theme however you like.

To join in:
• Create an analog collage inspired by the theme
• Tag or collaborate with @lwnsloveanthology so we can see and share your work
• Analog collages only, please

Can’t wait to see where this theme takes you.. 🚂

Today’s Hope Carousel

At least once a week I remind someone … my friend, my student, my weepy, heavily pregnant patient who wants nothing more than to hold her baby in her arms …

Beloved, picture a bud. As much as you love flowers, you can’t pry a bud open with your fingers to make it bloom. You have to give it light, water and time, and it will bloom on its own.

Same for us, little babies! Our timeline, however chaotic, unpredictable or tangled, is ours. None of this is by accident!!

Take your time.

Amen

Last on art and media inspo: photo & collage work by Mimi Miyamoto @mimingtonn and Alexa @leeeeksy

Collage is is a technique of art creation, primarily used in the visual arts, but in music too, by which art results from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole

A collage may sometimes include magazine and newspaper clippings, ribbons, paint, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas

Introducing Phantasm Gallery / Sliced (@phantasmgallery.sliced), an offshoot account of our gallery.
—
It's the yin to our primary account's yang: a black background opposites the glare of white; an unorthodox display opposes the formal, gallery-style display of the other; and without any negative space for emulating a gallery wall, there are no annoying blank posts (unlike the primary account).
—
The primary account (@phantasmgallery) will continue in the same manner, but I'm excited to offer now a separate viewer experience more suited to the scrolling-nature of Instagram. Our website (www.phantasmgallery.com) has also been updated if you haven't visited there for a while—take a look and subscribe to our monthly newsletter to receive an email with all the art we featured the past month, all in one place.
—
Thank you for the growing interest and support in the gallery and all its iterations! Cheers to change and growth.
