Getting to the paint is only the first step. 🧠🏀

Reverse pivots help create separation, protect the ball, and open up different scoring angles around the rim.

It’s not just about getting there. It’s about knowing what to do once you arrive.

Today’s focus: VOLUME SHOOTING.

Becoming a consistent shooter requires more than just getting shots up. It’s about building repeatable mechanics, maintaining balance and rhythm, and learning to make shots even as fatigue sets in.

High-volume shooting with purpose builds confidence, consistency, and the ability to knock down shots when it matters.

It’s not just how many shots you take. It’s the quality of the reps.

🏀 Did you get your shots up today?

SKILL DEVELOPMENT HAS TO TRANSLATE TO THE GAME. 🏀

We’re not just working on individual skills. We’re teaching players how to connect actions, read defensive rotations, create advantages, and make decisions within the flow of an offense.

The goal isn’t to memorize the drill. It’s to understand the game.

How does a Small guard keep getting by defenders overseas? 🤔

He changes speeds. Melo Trimble plays slow, twitches, then explodes. That’s how he’s been creating space as a pro at CSKA Moscow.

We took his film straight into our sessions. Which rep was the cleanest? Drop it in the comments 👇

4 ways to set up your defender before you attack 🏀
Good scorers don’t just go. They set it up first. These moves help you read what your defender is giving you or force them out of their game plan.

1️⃣ Skip setup: freeze their feet
2️⃣ Float setup: make them guess
3️⃣ Shift/misdirection: sell one way, go the other
4️⃣ Change of pace: slow to fast

Save this for your next workout.

Skip: Skip into your move to freeze the defender’s feet, then attack the gap.

Float: Float to make them guess. Their reaction tells you where to go

Shift/misdirection: Sell one direction with your shoulders and eyes, then go the other way

Change of pace: Lull them to sleep slow, then explode past them.

OPEN SHOTS SHOULD FEEL LIKE LAYUPS. 🎯

Great shooting isn’t about making the toughest shots.

It’s about consistently punishing the defense when they give you a clean one.

Feet ready. Hands ready. No hesitation.

Open = make. 🎯

Great shooting starts before the ball gets to you.

Win your footwork, arrive balanced, and be ready on the catch. Different actions, same preparation. 🎯🏀

1. CATCH & SHOOT
Square • Set • Shoot

2. DRIFT CATCH & SHOOT
Relocate • Balance • Shoot

3. HANDOFF SHOT
Timing • Footwork • Quick

Shooting isn’t always stationary.

Slide. Drift. Curl. 🎯

Each movement teaches you to relocate, create a clean window and get your feet organized before the ball arrives.

Don’t just practice making shots. Practice getting into shots.
