Opulent, geometric, and dripping in jewel tones, Art Deco design has maintained a timeless appeal since its rise to popularity in the 1920s. Designs of this time were often defined by a streamlined look with an emphasis on expensive materials and high-quality craftsmanship. From historic homes to modern interpretations, the Style Moderne will always be one of our favorites.

A brief recap of a not so brief, but productive, work trip. A different setting can always be useful for a designer, and @theallinnhotel made for an ideal backdrop to be brainstorming (like a hurricane in my mind, sometimes 🤪) I should have known it was a good sign as I had breakfast under one of @kylebunting installations, whose rugs I would be presenting to the client later that week. Was good to see parts of the project again, like the custom @niba.designs rugs inspired by topographical maps of the hill country around Lyons, and details of the replacement kitchen island we designed. Even managed to squeeze in a visit to @denverartmuseum …providing a load of inspiration and reflection, in general. See you again soon, Denver.

Rather than replicate the Italianate details of the main residence, the new structure embraces a clean, modern aesthetic. Floor-to-ceiling steel doors open the interior to the pool and deck, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. From everyday family gatherings to large-scale entertaining, every space was designed with connection and comfort in mind.

#LuxuryFreak Homes: Some homes are beautiful. Others preserve the soul of an entire city.

Nestled in the heart of New Orleans’ Garden District, this remarkable Italianate mansion is a celebration of one of America’s most treasured architectural neighborhoods. Originally built during the 19th century, when the district emerged as an exclusive enclave of grand residences, it has been thoughtfully restored by Louisiana native and AD PRO Directory interior designer @oliviaerwin, whose vision honors the home’s rich heritage while embracing contemporary living.

Surrounded by tree-lined streets, ornate wrought-iron balconies, and the neighborhood’s iconic “gingerbread” detailing, the residence is a reminder that true luxury isn’t only about exceptional design, it’s about preserving the stories embedded within it.

Designed as an accessory structure to the iconic Cornstalk Fence Mansion, this project included a new pool house, swimming pool, deck, and repairs to the rear exterior wall of the historic home.

From the project’s prominent location to its relationship with one of New Orleans’ most recognizable residences, every phase required careful planning and execution. We’re excited to share more of the craftsmanship, engineering, and design behind this unique project.

Thoroughly enjoyed helping these new clients with selecting, and commissioning several large scale paintings for their stunning home in Monroe, right on Bayou DeSiard.
Such an amazing example of why Lee Ledbetter is revered for creating unforgettable homes!
Inga Falterman’s heroic 5’x7’ Live Oak oil “Understory” rests opposite of two 5’x5’ perfect companion pieces by Phyllis Beiser.
