Visiting the factory’s in China and Thailand the last 5 years was an eye opener for me. Foxconn in China where @iphones are made was tedious and monotonous. The pay scales at the @nike factory were crazy low. The hours were 9-10 w less than minimum wage made me appreciate my job.

Back in 1989, @3localboyz took the scene by storm when @hiyoda Da Kruzah Alan Oda introduced a segment on his show called YO I-94 Raps. What started as @jimmydageek’s hilarious parody raps to popular radio hits quickly caught fire, and soon, 7 out of 10 teens across the state were tuning in.

The buzz caught the attention of Hip Jam Records, and with the help of Matt Young, Freddie Von Parez, Roni Yurong Nito Larioza Peter Lanting and Maestro of @newgeneration, they produced their first album, featuring iconic tracks like “Shaka Shaka Baby,” “Da Moke,” and “Soul Bradda.”

The momentum only grew with their second release, which flew off the shelves. This time, @ryanmats Hawaiian Ryan joined the group, replacing Da Kruzah, who shifted to management. With hits like “Me So Hungry,” “Rice Rice Baby,” and “I’m a Filipino,” the group started getting airplay up and down the West Coast.

Now, over 25 years later, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re re-digitizing those classic tracks so you can download them on @itunes. Stay tuned!
