I first came up with the idea for this movie back in 2003 and have kept it close ever since, making sure never to watch or read any fiction about amnesia (which is harder than you’d think) so nothing would influence how the events could, and eventually did, unfold.

Years later, I pitched it to Lee Friedlander, who ultimately produced this movie for @hallmarkchannel and it was her idea to bring in Christmas, which gave it new direction. It’s been a long journey, and huge thanks go to the always-awesome Auna Kemp for getting this pitch to “Yes” and leading the developing into the movie you’ll see premiere this Saturday (10/24) at 8PM (EST) on the Hallmark Channel, the home of #countdowntochristmas

I’m excited for you to meet these two characters who’ve been living in my head for far too long and who are brought to life through the wonderful talents of Janel Parrish and Daniel Lissing, and director Jessica Harmon.

I hope you love it! And now, at long last, I can watch (and read!) “The Vow”! 😁 🎄💕❄️

When I called Ed to ask for his blessing to marry his daughter @leemfriedlander he said, “Isn’t it wonderful that we live in a time that you can ask me this question with pride. I see how much you love each other. And I think you make a great team. Of course you have my blessing…now, what’s the plan?” If you knew Ed, you knew he was a planner. And he ended his family calls with “Love, love, kiss, kiss…” Love, that’s what he left. He left the reminder of how important it is to ask those you love very simply, “How are you?” The reminder to call for no reason, just to say “How’s it going? I love you.” That’s all. He called us at least 3-5 days a week. He asked us about our day, our jobs, what we were watching, about politics, what we had been eating, how was my family, the new baby, to tell us about his grandsons, to ask if we had spoken to the other siblings, or his wife, and how we were feeling. He authentically cared. He was insanely and wildly proud of his children and their accomplishments. He talked about them incessantly. He was motivated to stay with us as long as he could by this love of his family. His grandsons probably gave him the most fuel of all and his love and energy will live on in them, and in all of his family, and those he touched. He was an incredible father-in-law to me. I will miss his calls of love and care. I will miss seeing him smile when surrounded by family. I will miss FaceTimes with him. And I will hold Lee close over these next months knowing how hard this is for her. We love you Ed. Thank you for teaching us to just simply call and check in on each other 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
