Artist Feature

Leena

@leenartz

I am delighted to introduce Leena, who is a self-taught watercolor artist who enjoys exploring the expressive nature of this beautiful medium. Leena paints loosely and intuitively, allowing water and pigment to flow, while balancing spontaneity and intent.

For Leena, every painting is both an experiment and a journey of self-discovery. She's drawn to subjects that invite quiet observation and interpretation rather than perfect detail.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Fabriano in Acquarello, Italy, and in exhibitions organised by the International Watercolor Society (IWS). She continues to explore watercolour with curiosity, always hoping to grow as an artist.

Leena's work showcases loose, atmospheric skies and convincing architectural details. From the soft, glowing washes of her sunsets and lavender fields to the more controlled linework of her Venice canal and power-line studies, there is a consistent instinct for light and negative space that gives even her busiest compositions room to breathe.

Be sure to explore Leena's excellent work.
