The world has become so impossibly beautiful to me lately that sometimes, for a few moments, I forget everything else. The noise, the questions, all the things I’ve been hoping and working so hard for.

This was our last dinner at the artist retreat in Cork, Ireland, with Helena Walsh and Ben Mathes. The sky was turning pink over the ocean, everyone was together, and I remember feeling so incredibly grateful to be exactly where I was.

Later that night, I stepped outside for a cigarette. (I don’t smoke anymore) And standing there, looking up, I saw what appeared to be two moons. TWO MOONS. I’ve since learned that others witnessed this phenomenon that same night, which I find absolutely fascinating.

And then something happened that I still can’t quite explain. This extraordinary, overwhelming feeling of certainty about my life, my dreams, the stories I want to tell, the woman I’ve become, and everything I’ve spent years working towards. For one beautiful moment, all the questions went quiet. And I just knew.

I’ve spent so much of my life chasing something I can feel long before I can see it. Maybe that’s part of being an artist. You believe in things before they exist. You give your whole heart to something without knowing exactly where it will take you.

And sometimes, if you’re very lucky, the world gives you a moment that makes all of it feel worthwhile. I don’t know what happened that night, but I know what I felt. And some part of me is still standing there by the ocean, looking up.

A little spiritual. A little extraordinary. Maybe even life-changing.

Some things are better left between a woman and the moon.

Put me somewhere interesting, and I’ll find the story.

Big news for BOLD MP’s @leesiepinto ! ✨
Her new film IN STARLAND, starring Clarence Maclin (Sing Sing) and directed by Ray Panthaki, is set to make its world premiere at the 30th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, where it will close the First Feature Competition!

Christine Vachon’s Killer Films has also joined the project as executive producer.

Congrats to Leesie and the entire team! 🎬💖

Last year, it was a fun and new way to explore our region. Now, @seabrookwa it has become a yearly tradition! We had our first s’mores, flew our first kite (dad too), introduced some of the family to the true beauty of the #PNW, and created another core memory for our family!
