Another week playing with @cretacoloraustria art powders, this time sepia powder and combining a bit of sanguine and watercolour. The sepia powder’s larger pigment molecule offers greater texture perfect for the corrosion in our rusty subject matter.

Love the sessions where I get to introduce a new medium. This week was @cretacoloraustria Sanguine Powder! Absolutely love this watersoluble medium - made even more beautiful being able to combine it with watercolours! The rusty textures were on point yesterday! Well done ladies!

Wednesday creative sessions saw us painting Coca Cola bottles. Love throwing in these kinds of challenges every now and then, and completely surprising the class in presenting them with something I know they’re capable of but they aren’t 100% convinced. Watercolour has so much range and painting glass has always been a favourite subject to master in these classes.

Creative sessions this week, we got to try the new @schmincke_official Horadam range, putting these Horadam natural pigments to the test with a beautiful military macaw as our reference. The colour story matched the selection of colours we had available to us. Overall the schmincke layers served the backgrounds and initial layers well. The slow building up of the gorgeous greens in the birds were really enjoyed. While these are still in progress, can't wait to share finished macaws next week!

Wednesday creative sessions - attempting a looser style in watercolour. Keeping sketchy lines and letting paint mix and bleed is not everyone’s cup of tea but occasionally it’s good to shake it up a little 😉

Creative sessions this week focused on building up in colour theory… the ladies knocked their watercolours out of the park! While they’re still works in progress, this is one of those “trust the process” techniques. Can’t wait to see these finished!

Guys! The levels of pride I feel after two weeks working on these landscapes... They've taken heaps of patience with some of us not even near completion but that's ok... Watercolour deserves the slow lane sometimes! Take the time to progress slowly! Immerse yourself in the details... Get lost in the layers! So excited to see these come together and love that the crew immersed themselves in the slowness!

Non-dominant hands were at work this week, no references either! These creatives didn’t even notice the double whammy 😆 so enjoyed the watercolour painting free flow fish that came out of the session, 100% switching on those creative brains! You guys did it!

Super productive crew in this morning's creative session! Loosened up with foliage roulette and "awkward" hands then moved on to personal projects! These ladies are watercolour and ArtGraf queens at the moment! Such beautiful work well done everyone!
