Here's 5 Small Things You Can Do This Week to Boost Your Well-Being
Feeling overwhelmed by the “What did you accomplish last week?” question? Let’s shift the focus from productivity to well-being. Here are 5 small, things you can do this week for your mental health:

1️⃣ Take a 5-minute deep breathing break – Inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Your nervous system will thank you.
2️⃣ Drink an extra glass of water – Hydration = brain power.
3️⃣ Step outside for fresh air – Even 2 minutes of sunlight can boost your mood.
4️⃣ Say one kind thing to yourself – Because self-compassion is important
5️⃣ Put your phone down 30 minutes before bed – Quality sleep = better mental clarity. #fivethingsfriday #Compassion #compassion #therapist #therapistsofinstagram

Well-being isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing what matters. What’s one small step you’ll take this week? Drop it in the comments! 👇💬

Ever wonder why some people lash out when they’re struggling, while others quietly pull away? It turns out our mental health symptoms often split into two distinct camps: internalizing and externalizing.

🔹 Externalizing symptoms are the ones that spill outward—like a burst of energy you can’t contain. Think restlessness that keeps you pacing, impulsive decisions you regret later, or snapping at someone because frustration boils over. These are the signs others notice, and they can sometimes make social situations tricky.

🔹 Internalizing symptoms turn inward, hiding in plain sight. Picture constant worry that gnaws at you, pulling back from friends because it’s too hard to connect, or wrestling with sadness you can’t shake. These struggles are quieter, often invisible, which can leave you feeling alone in the crowd.

So why does this matter? Recognizing whether you lean one way—or bounce between both—can be a game-changer. It’s like having a map to your own mind. Spotting these patterns helps you find the right support, whether it’s calming tools for inner turmoil or strategies to tame outward bursts. Both experiences are real, and both deserve care.

Have you noticed these patterns in yourself or someone you care about? Drop a comment—We would love to hear!
