A quick Jakarta trip with the Rolex Explorer 124270 on the wrist, and came back with more memories. Travelled with @liang.ndo to explore the watch scene in Jakarta, fun!

Always good to catch up with old watch buddies, especially some of the boys I’ve been chatting with since the good ol’ COVID days @wanda_mr.watch @alakbatakhorology @watchnad @vinhorojourney @rarestuff_watch . From random DMs and watch talk online, to finally sitting down for a coffee in person.

I came to Jakarta as @wristshot.my, but honestly, this little part of me has brought me way further than I ever expected. It opened doors, started new friendships, and connected me with watch nerds from all over the world.

And after this trip, one thing is pretty safe to say that watch community is still very much alive and healthy in most corners of the world.

Different cities, different watches, same disease. 😂

A little watch story that means a lot. 💚

Both me and @watchdashu are rocking watches with dials cut from the very same piece of jade. Huge thanks to @dialupwatch for taking on this crazy challenge and bringing the idea to life.

Making a jade dial turned out to be much harder than any of us expected. A few dials didn’t survive the journey before the final pieces were perfected. Safe to say, good things really do take time.

One tiny detail I love, my initials are hidden at the 8 o’clock position. It’s one of those little touches you’d normally expect from a top-tier independent watchmaker, except our friend somehow made it possible without requiring us to sell a kidney. 😂

Maybe it’s just coincidence or maybe this jade really does bring good luck. @watchdashu recently wore his while proposing to his girlfriend (now fiancée!) in Japan. Both of us are progressing stages of life! 加油兄弟！

Here’s to friendship, good craftsmanship, and hopefully a little more Jade luck. 🍀⌚
