“Change the Narrative and flip the table” - Legacy 🦅

First off, go check out this dope interview streaming now on @chicanohollywood (FREE in App Store) featuring @legacyofficial408 hosted by @yojessicaflores 💯A real insight on his life and a true testament that its really never too late to choose a different path. Very proud of this young mans growth as an artist, but more so as a person… sky is the limit for Legacy moving forward.

Secondly, the past couple of years have really been a true commitment to my vision and mission statement… to make lasting changes to ESSJ. And over that time period, I’ve been able to accomplish a lot of award winning work in this area, empowering local artists on the streets and in the community for FREE.

And while some didn’t appreciate what I gave and brought to the table, others did…and now I am a Film Instructor at Downtown College Prep (DCP) Alum Rock HS. Right in the heart of the Eastside, where I get PAID to implement my purpose alongside DCPs core values (Ganas, Comunidad, Orgullo) to empower a larger student body and make a broader lasting impact. We really changing lives long term over here.

Special thank you to Principal Joyce Davis @jadee2518 for recognizing my body of work and taking a chance on me and my teaching style…putting me in a great position to WIN BIG!

So much so that DCP ARHS is hosting a huge talent/film showcase on Wednesday, May 24th at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in ESSJ. 500+ seat private event SOLD OUT!
I can’t wait to show off the tremendous next level film projects my talented students have been completing as well as some award winning professional collaborative projects 🎥🍿

It’s also a great opportunity to solidify community partnerships as well as reestablish relationships. In short, I had my plan, but Gods plan took me in a different route to be exactly where @eastsideheromovie needs to be. So stay tuned! A lot coming soon! The vision is still the mission! 🦅

Covid really stalled a lot of our progress with East Side Hero, but the VISION is STILL the MISSION as we relaunch a full-length feature film movement! 🦅🦅🦅

🦅 Let your darkest times drive you to reveal your brightest light 🦅

The vision is still the mission, as we continue towards creating a full-length feature film for East Side Hero. For those who continue to bless me with your support, I can’t thank you enough as so much has happened behind the scenes since the creation of our proof of concept film 🙏🏼

Aztlan 64 (prototype scale 1:25), created by award winning artist @freddy_alfaro1 is an artistic interpretation of a low and slow resistance and the FUTURE of lowriding while paying homage to the birth of Lowrider Magazine (founded in San Jose, CA). Here is the color scheme, concept and design breakdown:

- Root Beer Brown: Reflects our beautiful people, culture, and heritage, enriching the gold.
- Pagan Gold: Blending in the darkness and struggle of our existence to truly find the light of our purpose.
- Aztec Gold: Color base throughout, but highlighted across the center, the soul of a rebellious heart.
- Huelga bird wings: Hood and trunk adorn a defiant non-violent protest against harassment and unjust laws with nobility, mobility and creativity.
- Arrows: Driving our raza forward towards the resurrection of our minds with true heart and purpose.
- Pyramid silhouette: Centers on expression of identity through cultural roots and history.
- Linework and stripes: Flow through the body seamlessly, and are straight and sharp like talons.

When driven, Aztlan 64 will give the elegant appearance of an Eagle in flight, a truly beautiful artistic manifestation of a low and slow proclamation of Chicano identity.

“Us Chicanos got a heart, and it’s made of Aztec gold” … Y Que? ✊🏼💯 C/S
