the range of eye catching silhouettes, stunning prints, and brilliant styling/accessorizing choices displayed at @legacyweekonmv ‘s “I Love Us” Seersucker & Sundresses day party already have me plotting my look for next year. Which is your fave?😍💃🏾🥰

Fun fact: What you can’t see (or hear) is the way these women affirmed and encouraged each other as they each took their turn filming with me.
that loving chorus of genuine and enthusiastic encouragement is how so many of the beautiful smiles in this reel bloomed into being. 🌻

Thank you to all who participated!🫶🏾

Sending a big shout out to @legacyweekonmv for organizing such an incredible HBCU Takeover Day Trip to Nantucket and the @maahmuseum! The team was fantastic, and President/CEO Dr. Noelle Trent and Dr. Sara Naomi Bleich @harvardchansph led a fascinating discussion about Black life in Boston and Nantucket. Discovering Florence E. Clay Higginbotham’s story and visiting her home, which she purchased in 1920, was truly a special experience! #hbculegacyweekonmv

Legacy looks different for everyone. My legacy is standing right beside me.

Watching Annie turn her talent into something tangible is a different kind of pride. She designed and handmade every piece in this photo. Legacy Week in Martha’s Vineyard felt like the perfect place to capture it.

My greatest accomplishment will never be my title. It’s raising children who know how to create something of value for the world.
