The absolute best money I’ve spent this year was a $75 flash for my x100vi. Seriously. It’s incredible. Go buy one.

Recognition is nice. Proof is better.

In The Black was named one of South Carolina’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies - and while we’re proud to see our name on the list, the real story is what it took to get there.

We built this company on a simple belief:
Marketing should do more than look good. It should make businesses stronger.

That means getting past the deliverables. Past the order-taking. Past the idea that an agency’s job ends when the campaign goes live.
We get into the business.

The numbers. The customers. The opportunities. The problems nobody wants to talk about. The strategy required to turn attention into growth.
Because you don’t build a great company by standing on the sidelines of someone else’s.

You build it by helping them win.

Proud to be recognized among South Carolina’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Businesses. Even prouder of the clients and team who helped put us there. The goal was always in the name. Stay In The Black.

Sliding into Q4 like…

Every other month, one member of the our team gets to plan a day that’s entirely their own. No client meetings. No deadlines. Just a chance to get out of the office, have some fun and remember that the people you build great work with matter just as much as the work itself.

For @legarehay day, we traded strategy decks for life jackets and headed to @charlestonaquapark for what can only be described as a real-life episode of Wipeout. 🥊

The rain may have canceled our wakeboarding plans, but it certainly didn’t cancel the competition. Or the falling. Lots of falling. 🤣

So here’s our note to Q4: we’re coming in fast.

Leads are easy to count. Sales are what matter.

At Blue Haven Pools, we’re seeing lead to appointment conversion reach as high as 75%.

That does not happen because we found a magic audience or because the market suddenly got easier.

It happens because marketing and sales are actually talking to each other.

Within 30 days, we’re looking beyond the ad metrics. We’re asking which leads are answering the phone, which ones are booking appointments, which ones are buying and where the process is breaking down.

Then we adjust.

Because a marketing strategy should not just generate leads. It should help the sales team close more of the right opportunities.

Anthony Kelly of Blue Haven Pools says it best: the numbers matter, but what you do with them matters more.

Better data. Better conversations. Better sales decisions.

That’s how you stay In The Black.

Two years. Two Inc. 5000 honors. And we’re just getting started. 🖤🔥

For the second year in a row, In The Black Marketing & Consulting has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

Growth like this doesn’t happen by accident. It takes a clear vision, the right strategy, a team willing to execute at a high level and clients who trust us with something incredibly important: the growth of their businesses and brands.

We’re proud to represent our city, region, state and the southeast as a growing marketing and consulting firm - and even prouder of what this recognition says about the people behind ITB.

To our team: you built this.
To our clients: your trust made it possible.

Being recognized once was an honor. Earning a place on the Inc. 5000 list for two consecutive years proves we’re building something with steady power.

And we have no intention of slowing down.

Marketers: What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give a college student pursuing a career in marketing? 👇

We’ll go first: don’t wait until graduation to start becoming a marketer.

A marketing degree can teach you the fundamentals. But building a career in marketing also means learning how to do the work - whether that’s social media, content creation, SEO + AEO, paid media, email marketing, design, AI, websites, or data and analytics.

Pick a skill. Get good at it. Then find a real problem you can use that skill to solve.

Help a local business. Volunteer with a nonprofit. Build your own platform. Create the campaign. Learn the tools. Track what happened.

Because your portfolio shouldn’t just show what you made. It should show what your marketing accomplished.

Did traffic grow? Did people click? Did leads increase? Did sales move?

That’s the experience future employers are looking for, and you don’t have to wait for someone to hire you before you start building it.

If you’re a freshman or college student studying marketing, you have an entire school year ahead of you to start building that proof.

Start now.
