Introducing the project of FRANCISKA LEGAT
“Melancholy of Freedom”

Melancholy of Freedom follows the lives of Hungarians from different generations who left their homeland and chose Berlin as their new home. The project explores emigration as both a liberating and melancholic experience, driven by the search for greater opportunities and freedom. Berlin becomes a symbolic stage for the tensions between East and West, past and present, belonging and a sense of loss.

Tour and exhibition opening: 16th of October at 19:30

Venue: House of Mexican Art, Old Town Plovdiv

(EN) And finally photos from the 𝟑. 𝐝𝐚𝐲 of the Neighborhood Festival (also taken by the wonderful @legatfranci ), when we started the day with a collage workshop, then—led by Anna Halász—we filled the cracks in the public spaces around us with all the good things in life. Afterward we watched Eszter Virók’s thought-provoking puppet performance once again, and before the evening’s quiz, raffle, and DJ set, we even made out some scrunchies!

🩵🩵🩵(EN) And here are some truly beautiful photos from the 𝟐. 𝐝𝐚𝐲 of the Neighborhood Festival, where after the community breakfast we took part in two different walks together (Miksa Róth and Gabi in Chicago), and then after the neighborhood knowledge-sharing session we also opened the Kitekintő Library. In the evening we watched Eszter Virók’s puppet performance and two Intracomp performances, which made for some great conversations with all of you!

My lil guy, Endre is thriving. Maternity photoshoot by @legatfranci

25yrs on this rock.
So much agony and despair.
Disdain and boredom return.
All the more reason for curiosities about unknown affects.
Returning my soul to the carrier.
The wisdom flesh of living.
Eye opening.
Ear sharpening.
Drum to my soul.
Give me more.
