dear legend, thank you. for everything. for changing me so deeply and giving me the people i hold so dear in my heart. for making me the person i am🤍

four years ago, i procrastinated so long on finding a dance team to try out for that there was only one left still holding auditions. who could’ve guessed that that team would turn into my family? i owe everything to the people who’ve made this team a home for the last four years. words cannot fully capture my love. thank you.🤍

dear legend, thank you, from the farthest corners of my heart, for another year with my favorite team.🤍

this season wasn’t without its struggles and hard days, but the love and comfort in this family far surpasses any pain. i wouldn’t be me without the teammates, the dances, and the home i’ve found here. i cannot wait for one more year, this time leading the way. all my love.

If only you knew the lengths we went through to get pictures for this year’s showcase 😃

Despite all of its challenges, this year with Legend has been my favorite by far. The rest of the exec and I had a very late start on setting up the team due to various reasons out of our control, but we hit the ground running, filled the team roster (to not just be upperclassmen lol), had an amazing showcase with our best audience turnout to date, and most importantly, grew close as a team. Legend is the closest it has felt since my freshman year, and I am so grateful to every member for fostering this fun-loving environment 💕

Now, not to be mushy (again), but Legend: thank you for trusting me to be one of your co-presidents for the past 2 years, on exec for 3 years, and allowing me to join the team 4 years ago. My confidence in my abilities to dance, choreograph, and lead rehearsals has grown immensely since joining Legend. I never would have imagined I would step into leadership on the team—and I know I’ve made mistakes, but I hope I led you well. Thank you for trusting me and dancing with me. And my fellow co-pres, Andrea: I couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for all of the calls, texts, organization, ideas, plans A-Z, and support in the past year. I will sincerely miss working alongside you. Thank you to the rest of exec for working so hard with such a difficult start to the year, each of you are wonderful. Seniors: I love you very much and will miss seeing you each week. Please stay in touch 🫶

Now, I’m kicking back and beyond excited to be coming back as a general member in the fall. I love each of you dearly!

Signing off as co-president for the last time,
Emily 💜 LDC 2024-2025

We Both Reached for the Gun - choreography by me! :D

I can’t believe I’m making this post before the school year ends (that’s a first!). This is my favorite piece of choreography I have done to date. I’d been wanting to use this song since the last showcase (I wanted to use it before it blew up on social media LOL), so getting it to actually come together was incredible. It was SO fun working with such a large dance filled with tap and jazz dancers (though sometimes I fear I did not focus enough on my jazz dancers—I love you guys, you did great)! It was amazing to have a larger dance, especially considering the genre was tap/musical theater, but it came together wonderfully. Also huge thank you to @akeene0304 for letting me borrow/teaching me how to spin rifle for this dance! Thank you guys for bringing so much energy, focus, and spunk to this dance—helping my choreography come to life—each of you made the process so rewarding. I’m so proud of this team <3

A different sappy post about legend to come soon—I just got tired of downloading pictures heheh :b I hope you enjoyed this dance as much as I did ❤️

Music: “We Both Reached For The Gun” from “Chicago” (I do not own this music)
