Here’s my @legendsoffootballuk speech!
Part 2 of our beautiful boy George’s journey to communication.
George is autistic non-speaking, blind and had a stroke at birth. He also has epilepsy and end-stage kidney failure.

Through music therapy with @nordoffrobbins we were invited to speak at the awards. George unexpectedly mastered using a spelling board a year ago and now can communicate fully, spelling each word one letter at a time 🙏🏼❤️ Thierry Henry who is the kindest soul gave his award to George to keep 😭

It was a delight welcoming football and Strictly legend @KazCarney to join a group music therapy session for children with complex needs ahead of her being honoured at this year’s @LegendsOfFootballUK.

The session made a big impact on Karen, here’s what she said about the experience.

We loved showing Thierry Henry and @SharleenSpiteri how important music therapy is for our client George before this year’s @LegendsofFootballUK event.

We caught up with Thierry before he was honoured at the celebration to hear how he felt about the experience.

This year was the 30th anniversary of Legends of Football and over that time, they have raised over £9 million for Nordoff and Robbins - an incredible amount which helps us deliver more life-changing music therapy to children like George 💚

What a busy week 📸

I’ve been busy at work, seeing friends and attending some incredible events this week and throughout it all I’ve found myself thinking a lot about the people who make life richer. The conversations, the laughter, the moments that remind you to look up from the endless news cycle and reconnect with what’s right in front of you.

One evening that stayed with me was the Legends of Football event in support of Nordoff and Robbins. Beyond the celebrations, what struck me most was the humility in the room and the reminder of what can happen when people come together for something bigger than themselves.

The week also included some Strictly nostalgia and, somehow, a birthday cake for a birthday that wasn’t mine 🎂😂

I’m holding on to the good moments where I find them❤️

This week TaP put on our charity 5-a-side football tournament in aid of the wonderful music therapy charity @nordoffrobbins, in partnership with @legendsoffootballuk ⚽🎶❤️

With teams from across the music and football industries taking part, over £50k was raised at the daytime tournament and £238k at the evening event 💕✨. We’re happy to have been part of raising money for such an incredible charity.

Music has an immensely powerful and positive impact on all of us. Nordoff Robbins uses music therapy to support people facing a wide range of challenges, including dementia, learning disabilities, brain injuries, life-limiting illnesses, mental health issues, grief and trauma. We’re proud to support their important work 💙
