This year I have had the privilege of being the Research Assistant on the project ‘Prototyping Multi-species Encounters: Relating to Redmires Reservoirs’ Residents’, a design-research project based at the Uni of Sheffield (in partnership with Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust) and funded by EPSRC Ecological Citizens. We are exploring how design might foster inclusive more-than-human futures and develop richer nature-connectedness, whilst unravelling some of the more complex multi-species ‘entanglements’ and co-becomings at Redmires Reservoirs.

Participation has become a big part of our project and we have been working closely with sound and field recording as a way of connecting people to the site in new ways.

I am so gutted to already be half way through this project and may we find more funding quick so this beautiful work can continue!! 🙏

What a year it’s been…. Here’s some lovely highlights, from victorious, bolehills crew, work mates, rave crew, monkeys laps. Old friends, new friends and Sheffield showing me truly what it’s made of.
