🇺🇸 CONTINENTAL CUP SPOTLIGHT 🇲🇽
CHAD VANDEGRIFFE | TEAM USA

When it comes to defending in the indoor game, few players have built a resume quite like Chad Vandegriffe.

The St. Louis native enters the Continental Cup as one of the most accomplished defenders on the Team USA roster. A two-time MASL Defender of the Year, Vandegriffe won the award with the Florida Tropics in 2021-22 before claiming it again with the Kansas City Comets in 2024-25. That second honor came after a dominant season in which he led the MASL with 81 blocked shots.

And he hasn’t slowed down. During the 2025-26 season, Vandegriffe became the MASL’s all-time leader in blocked shots, finishing the campaign with 449 career blocks while earning All-MASL First Team honors.

His accolades also include a 2019 Ron Newman Cup championship with the Milwaukee Wave, multiple All-MASL selections and a 2025 MASL All-Star appearance. In June, the Lehigh Valley Spirits announced the signing of the veteran defender, adding another chapter to a professional indoor career that began in St. Louis.

Vandegriffe’s experience extends well beyond the @maslsoccer . He has represented the United States with USA Minifootball in multiple international competitions, including helping Team USA capture the 2023 EMF Nations Games title and representing the U.S. at two World Minifootball Federation World Cups.

Now, Vandegriffe brings that championship experience, defensive mentality and veteran presence to another international stage.

Next stop: Continental Cup. 🇺🇸 vs. 🇲🇽
