At MishMash Productions, we are looking for school groups to take part in a young audience consultation.

MishMash makes and tours classical music performances for children, young people, families and schools. We want to create the best possible performances, and to do that, we would like to understand more about audiences' expectations and interests.

We are asking for teachers to complete this survey alongside students in KS2 and lower KS3 to help us better understand how young people feel about classical music and how we can best provide performances students want to attend.

In addition to giving us vital information, the survey provides an excellent exercise in listening, practising musical language, and critical analysis, all in support of the model music curriculum.

✨Complete the online survey
✨The survey should take about 20-30 minutes
✨Teachers and students complete it together - suitable for students from Year 3 to Year 8
✨Not been to a classical music event before? It doesn’t matter; tell us your views
✨Survey open until the end of November 2026
✨A chance to win £100 in music resources for your school

Head to our bio to find the link to take part 👆 An image of a teacher stood at the front with older children with their hands raised. Text reads: Teachers and students ... share your thoughts about classical music.

🎼🎤🎧 Over the summer, @leicsmakemusic & @leicestershire_youth delivered some taster sessions to have a go at djing, mixing, scratching and the opportunity to play more traditional musical instruments. 🥁🎸🎹

The sessions were funded through #HAF to provide young people with activities during school holidays. 💰

❓What activities would you like to see us offer during the next school holiday break? Add your comments below ⬇️

This Black History Month, we honour the people who keep our communities moving, through consistent acts of care, leadership, creativity and responsibility.

For us at Pedestrian it means recognising the black people who have helped shape our communities and the conversations about whose voices are heard and whose need representing. There is no better way to amplify those voices than music! With programmes such as GRIME OPERA we have done just that. It was recently featured on Goldie's BBC Radio 3 series 'Street to Symphony Hall'. which highlights how influence has worked in both directions: artists immersed in the sounds of the street have gone on to create orchestral and symphonic work, while classically trained composers have brought the rhythms and energy of Black British popular music into new spaces.

Yesterday we hosted our first extra curricular fair! We had 28 exhibitors attend, showcasing what activities our students can take part in. We really enjoyed making these connections and we hope students found something they would like to take part in! Thank you to all exhibitors who attended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit from the @nyjouk on Friday, thanks to @leicsmakemusic 🎶

Our school hall came alive with the music of Charles Mingus - a composer, bassist & pianist who was regarded as one of the most important figures in 20th Century Jazz.

Our CWC musicians stayed to work with the @nyjouk, exploring the world of improvisation.

Could you come back to visit us soon please?!
