POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

There's multiple ways we build, but here's one.

When @hp_bte & @brianartworld calls, you answer. Had the pleasure to design and build a set for "Where The Suga Still Sweet".

Come see the set come to life at opening night tonight and this weekend.

Working hard at something can weigh on you.
Wear you down.
Require more than you have (or know) you have to give.
And it seems it is hardest, darkest right before you reach the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today “Where the Suga Still Sweet” OPENS!

The small of us have created something BIG and BEAUTIFUL! Bigger than us like that cane. We’ve reached the light.

This video is a reminder to my cast, but mostly it’s a reminder to myself to REJOICE!

To REJOICE in the light of what we’ve done, what we’re doing, and what we’ve made.

To REJOICE in the light of WHERE THE SUGA STILL SWEET!

VENUE CHANGE!!!! The Louisiana Black Artist meet up will now be held at Un Deux Trois Social Club 802 Jefferson Street.

Have a drink and a bite to eat at this Black owned establishment, connect with Black Artist, then support Black Art at The ACA for the 1st performance of “Where The Suga Still Sweet”. We’ll be at Un Deux Trois from 6-7pm before heading down to the ACA. So even if you are going to the play a different night, you can still come by and say hello.

There are roles that challenge you to ascend HIGHER, dig DEEPER, and reach places within yourself you never knew existed. To CREATE, to EXPLORE, to paint the many layers of a character's humanity.

To embrace the JOY, confront the FEAR, feel the PAIN, celebrate the TRIUMPH, and honor the LEGACIES of those whose blood runs through your veins.

THIS IS THAT ROLE. 🙏🏾 PASTOR VERN-MAYOR

Tank and the Bangas concert + Friends + accidental The Candy Lady Link up + Good Vibes.

If @tankandthebangas come anywhere near your city you just go see them. This is my 3rd time seeing them live and they never disappoint.

I briefly met Tank backstage and she was so sweet. It’s always good vibes. 🙌🏾 I’m so glad I was able to make it cause mamma needed a night out… and this was perfect!

A look back at my time with Zeitgeist Dance Theatre — Summer ’25

Finding out Ms. Leigha was unexpectedly on the same flight, was all the confirmation I needed. Sometimes, you just know you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

So thankful for the connections, friendships, movement, and memories I made along the way.

From African Class at the Railyard Performance Space (which had me DRENCHED!), to company rehearsals and meeting some beautiful people — ZDT ’25 was one for the books.

A season of movement, curiosity, and being surrounded by artists who continue to inspire the work.

“We continue to fight for freedom by remembering where we come from.”

That was producer, Leigha T. Porter’s toast, raised the night we opened The Juneteenth Story.

Our stories mattered before. They matter now. They will matter forever.
