Been a pretty good morning thus far..

Been getting calls from folks in LA that heard “Night Dream” on the radio @thesocalsound this am ..

and then I get this from my agent..

“Hey Brad, it’s James. We just got you a placement in resident alien on NBC. I sent you the scene description. Episode #10. It’s a popular syndicated show so the forever money should be good on this one. If all looks ok can we move forward? Congrats, “I Don’t Know What to Believe In” is a great song and I’m glad we were able to connect here.”

Aaand a got a show tnt w band @reddogpioneertown in Pioneertown, CA. 6-9pm!!

aaaand I’m playing hockey this afternoon.. !

I luv my life, thx for being in it .. 🩵💛🔥🫶

How we all doin’ out there! the crowd erupts w applause.. 😛

my latest single “Every Other Day” has been out for almost a week now! Have you heard it yet?! This track is another one off my forthcoming album “The Chicago Sessions” that I cut last summer. Produced by Mike Hagler (Wilco - summerteeth, Billy Bragg) featuring Matt Pittman @spaghettimidwesterner on guitar/keys, John Abbey @johnabbeysoup (bass), and Gerald Dowd @geralddowd247365 on drums and myself on vocals and acoustic guitar. It was great cutting these songs live w the band in the studio. We didn’t even play to a click which I think adds some extra wiggle room for the lightning. ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Crank her up and give her a listen today! avail for purchase/stream via bandcamp

My new single “Night Dream” is out now on all the things. This is another track off my forthcoming album “The Chicago Sessions” where I teamed up with Wilco (summerteeth, Billy Bragg) engineer/producer Mike Hagler and cut a batch of songs live with Chicago’s wrecking crew @geralddowd247365 @johnabbeysoup @spaghettimidwesterner last summer @kingsizesoundlabs

Please give the full length version a listen on streaming and a view on YouTube today!! ✌️😎

Indie-rock/Alt.country singer/songwriter Brad Byrd’s latest single “Night Dream” off his full length forthcoming album “Lost in a Day” (The Chicago Sessions), explores a new more organic sound, reminiscent of 90’s REM, The Replacements, Big Star, and Nada Surf. The video was shot in Los Angeles, CA on February 6th, 2025 by Director/radio DJ Nic Harcourt, filmed and edited by Matt Blake courtesy of Nude & Ginger productions.

Video Director - Nic Harcourt
Video Editor - Matt Blake
Produced by Mike Hagler, Brad Byrd and Matthew Pittman
Engineered, mixed and mastered by Mike Hagler at Kingsize Sound Labs, Chicago, IL - July 2024
Acoustic guitar, vocals, writer: Brad Byrd
Drums: Gerald Dowd

Last time I was at Harper Court for a film was early 1982, seeing Time Bandits with my high school gf.

That was then, this is now.

Got a chance to see “Catalyst” tonight, a new documentary on Duro Wicks and the early days of Hip Hop in Chicago, and the weekly shows at Lower Links.

High praise to all involved, from Duro to Leigh Jones who without hesitation gave these kids a home at her club.

And always good to see Howard Bailey, right?

We set a record!

Last night’s Desert Bingo raised a whopping $440 for The Flamingo Heights Community Association. If you’re reading this post and you were at the event last night - get up, right now, and give yourself a standing ovation! Okay, sit back down. I know that was a lot to ask given the amount of ridiculous fun we all had. My head’s hurting too, but my heart is super full. Thank you.

Shoutouts to our prize sponsors: @getdesertdust, Sacred Healing (@thegoldenlight3), @giantrockmeetingroom, @sunofthedesert_. Thank you for the incredible prizes!

Shoutout to @self.contronymitation and @ryanclarkhoward (bingo board sellers extraordinaire), and the GRMR staff for keeping our bellies fed and our thirsts quenched.

Next Desert Bingo game is Jan 30th. Start saving those dollar bills!
