Some “no’s” are simply making room for the right “yes”!

Thank you to the panel of judges/members my fellow peers who chose @jodonfilm (huh-duh) as one of the Short Films to be screened at the SAG AFTRA Foundation Short Film Showcase solely because it moved you and you considered it worthy.

This means so much to me!

I feel seen.

It’s truly an honor!

And I will never stop giving thanks to our cast & crew for your hard work! This could not have turned out as beautiful if it wasn’t for you!

I was telling a friend of mine the other day “We as actors, artists, creator’s seldom get to truly enjoy things till the end because we live on the edge of waiting to be validated, confirmed or booked. I crave to feel that excitement all the way through.”

On avail “So excited but I don’t want to be too excited …”
Submit my short film to festivals “I finished my film! Yayy!! who knows I probably won’t get picked”

This is at least true for me. Getting to a place where I am truly embracing joy because I received an opportunity millions would give anything for is something that’s easier said than done.

Creating work for a purpose has been so full filling to me. Needless to say the tears of joy I have shed in the last week make it all worth it.

We are so conditioned to think “what if it doesn’t pan out?” Instead of celebrating “what if it does?”

It’s the kind of gratitude that must be learned with time, patience, and a dash of delusion blended with a ton of audacity.

I had the absolute pleasure of co-directing the English dub of DEAR KILLER NANNIES alongside @msword!! It’s narrated by @juanpabloescobarhenao himself, and stars @johnleguizamo, who dubbed himself in English! Out now on @hulu and @disneyplus internationally! @nyavpost ❤️

One year (+change) with @mcstheatre and, am I HOOKED. Each monthly challenge has honed not only my skillset as an actor but also my understanding of myself and why we do this beautifully wackadoo art form.

We need self care yes, but also self acceptance to navigate the storms within us that make us lash out and repeat the cycle. We can only do that by being honest with ourselves about what hurts us and fills us, and honest with each other about what we need and desire. And the bravery to do so comes from seeing others experiencing it too.

It has been the biggest gift to witness my classmates do just that every single week. To make the scary strides and heartbreaking revelations only to come out the other side lighter and joyful and scared again for the unknown of what is next. And none of this is could happen without @matt.acting.coach open hearted guidance that fills a space with gentle(ish) nudges towards a higher possibility.

Anyway - this carousel features some fun moments we happened to catch with more to come I’m sure! And in the meantime, let’s make more good shit together.

1 - excerpt from a night of new works by artist in residence LR Savage
2 - serious scenework
3 - a typical Sunday
4 - Shirley
