As the saga around Shane Gillis’ video peaks, I received the above message 😱

✌🏽to you Shane and who sent this message (my version of giving them the fingers 😅).

Shane, and anyone else, if women wearing crops in the gym makes you uncomfortable, you’re going to love us over 50’s🙋‍♀️

We’ve survived childbirth, decades of underwire bras, teenagers, the leg warmer era with Jane, teenagers and now menopause. We are hardly going to be defeated by a man’s opinion on our activewear 🙃

The crop stays. The shorts will be worn. At 50yrs and over, we’ve run out of oestrogen and f**ks to worry about your opinion on our
scrunch bums 💅🔥

For a hilarious take on the ‘whore’ saga, watch @kittyflanagan take on;

Training under fatigue is key to improving endurance. If you are a HYROXER, it’s essential to include in workouts that force you out of your comfort zone & give that extra push. Try this .. **can increase time pyramid and number of wall balls, lunges etc to suit fitness level;

* all runs are zone 2 pace
• 5min run, 20 wall balls
• 4min run, 20 lunges with weight
• 3min run, 20 broadjump burpee
• 2 min run, 100 ab crunches **choose a variety
• 1min run, 100 ab crunches
• 2min run, 20 broadjump burpees
• 3min run, 20 lunges
• 4min run, 20 wall balls
• 5min run, stretch|mobility work 🥵

Take note of that woman in her fifties who stands next to you in the warm up.
Don’t disregard her ability to push beyond the boundaries.
Know she has you measured.
Believe she is looking out for you.
Give her the space and respect she deserves because she has lived through the teenage years, her 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, trying to work out the best way forward and she’s still going.
Still showing up.
Still exploring what’s possible.

That woman in her fifties is not done yet 💛

Being called a c**t is not OK, for any reason.
What’s your thoughts?

@squad_fifty is my safe place. It’s a space where I show up authentically everyday and share my thoughts and feelings on training, where I’m sitting physically|mentally|emotionally.

They check in on me 🥰 They make fun of me (a little too much sometimes 😅). They give me a kick in the butt when due.

I’m not the business owner, the employer or the Coach in this SQUAD. I’m simply me. I can be the injured one or the de-motivated one. I’m not scared of showing these sides of me to these people. Because I know they resonate.

We expect the same from each of us, we lift each other up when needed, shoot a rocket where required and cheer loudly .. really loudly everyday 📣

We are gearing up for a BIG year of action, achievement and celebration. Interested in;
• HYROX competing?
• Cable Beach Marathon|half|10kils?
• Cape to Cape?
• Dash and Splash
• STRONG MAN (& WOMEN) Comp?
Join us @squad_fifty .. you don’t need to be 50, follow along for inspo, goals and a laugh 🥰
We have more training programs hitting soon!

A space for 50yr plus women who believe life is for thriving, have energy to share and a passion for living ‘well’.

We share our experiences, dreams and challenges. We’ve lived through a lot.
We have nurtured, guided and grown our loved ones.
We know we have more to give and more life to live.

We exist in a different space, with more intensity by challenging our inner selves through physical, mental and emotional events which push our boundaries to help us realise ‘we’re not done yet’.

…and we intend to have a bloody good time doing it! Join us on this journey💛
