4 years later and I am done my BFA. Both exciting and sad. Thank you to everyone who made this program so special. Goodbye Ontario Hall, you will be missed.

Being back in Kingston has given me the privilege to connect to my first art community, and (holy moly) ten years since my own BFA graduating thesis exhibition, I found myself attending this year’s unbelievably talented thesis show! I didn’t get photos of everything, but here are some impressive highlights:

1-8: works from the BFA 2023 Graduating Show - you can follow them @offlineshow2023
9-10: my own graduating work in the same building, and a pretty adorable photo of my BFA 2013 cohort 💙

Goodbye Ontario Hall!

Special thanks to my thesis supervisor, Alejandro, and all of the BFA professors for raising us these 4 years.

⭐️Artist Spotlight⭐️

Sydney Leith is from Ottawa Ontario and is completing her BFA and B.Ed at Queen’s University in hopes of becoming an educator. Sydney uses her artistic practice in oil painting to observe everyday interactions and to capture a still moment in time. She draws on inspiration from Eric Fischl’s dynamic compositions and focuses on depth and form in her figurative works. Sydney utilizes colour and creates works that evoke nostalgia. Her works celebrate both the figure and the landscape and seek to capture the light and contrast within each composition.
