Taking a moment to let it all sink in! 11 years! Wow! What a privilege to do what I love and love who I do it with!

No better way to celebrate 11 years of blessings than by getting together to help and feed our hungry neighbors. I'm always grateful to the generosity of spirit displayed by the Hot Spot Family!

And to follow it up with this amazing fated opening at Hot Spot Yoga Oakland Temescal. We have been waiting patiently since 2021 for this space to open up for us. When it did we were open and ready.

What a celebration it was- hot spot past present and future came to support and show out: from Paula Junn, one of our first members, to my daughters father (those in the big d club know how hard this can be and what progress looks like), to our teachers from the past who have become family, to our members who have become family, and to the folks who popped in to introduce themselves (the homies from temple tattoo and Daytrip to the dude who jumped in our picture on his way to work because he liked our energy- thank you! I love you!

If rain on your wedding day is good luck … then we are going to be VERY lucky in our marriage. 8 years is a fucking lifetime, and it’s also just the blink of an eye. From our beginnings in the humble hopeful little hole in the wall on 24th street to stepping up to park blvd, to opening San Leandro, to covid times and sharing space on line, to closing San Leandro, to tearing down the walls at Park and closing down 24th st- the Hot Spot family has been through it all- together.

We have become mothers, fathers, brides, husbands, partners, ex-wives, ex-husbands, ex-partners. We’ve buried our people and created new people, transitioned through jobs, created new ways of living, of thinking, we’ve been broken, rebuilt. What’s most remarkable is how the Hot Spot YO! family has made a dedicated practice of finding ways to snatch joy from the sometimes painful reality of our life. Our message, our collective movement and our breath, continues to bring each one of us deeper into the warm fold of little inner peace and community love. 8 years and going strong!

How blessed are we to be in relationship to each other?! How lucky are we to have this community of people who love and support each other through all of life’s mOMents.

To everyone who has ever popped in to the studio for class, bought a membership, taught a class, a workshop, participated in a training, stopped by to say hi, anyone who has shared your energy with us. Thank you!!!

Together, all of us. We did that.
8 years, 1 pandemic, 10000000 smiles, so many tears and all the chaturangas- ohhh the chaturangas!
