Spent a fabulous day exploring Green-point, Brooklyn 🧃🥗🫶🏼 the salad spot was such a good idea! Thank you to the TikTok recommendation.

Side note, Transmitter park is probably my favorite waterfront park just for its angle and views 🌇🌳

First photo: cafe L’Alimentari, October 2015.
Second: L’Alimentari, eleven years later.

Eleven years ago this week, I came to New York for the first time.

I’d been selected for a photojournalism workshop and almost didn’t come. I had no dreams about New York. But everyone around me kept saying how prestigious it was, so I thought, well, I guess I have to go. Then I was invited to join a documentary production program for my installation in Spain right after, and old friends from Moscow University happened to fly in the same weeks.

Three weeks of workshops, adventures, coffees, meeting the photographers I’d admired for years. Not one second of sleep.

I look at these photos now and see a blonde girl with a full life waiting for her in Spain. Without fully understanding what had just happened, she knew her life had changed forever.

Eleven years later, almost ten of them living in New York. It’s been a hell of a ride.

What started as a plan back in March came and went in the blink of an eye. My favorite place with some of our favorite people and some of the best memories.

Blissfully sipping vodka sours by the piano at Marie’s Crisis as Morgan got the entire bar singing happy birthday and having a random woman toss a hot pink slap bracelet onto my arm was the perfect way to celebrate turning 34 🥰

BUT the undeniable highlight was getting to experience Heathers before they close, especially since Dallas was chosen as the “Steve” of the night during Shine A Light and absolutely nailed the assignment! One of the cast members joked that he should be signing playbills with them at the end and he kept getting stopped by other audience members as we left.
(Scroll to the end of the kiss @anneliesevanderpol blew him during her bow 😂🤣)

The perfect start to this new year of life ✨♥️

Sometimes hitting the road leads to a well-curated bookshelf. Other times it puts you face-to-face with a really fabulous mirrored plinth. This corner of my living room holds space for both.

Good music, good company, and a summer evening outdoors. 🌙☕️

Aug 8, Casa Nostra brings together @trachstarmusic, @rollfit_eny.fm, and our favorite @lellalimentari for an evening discoteca that spills out onto the street.

Catch a set, grab a drink, hang with friends, and stay a little longer than you planned.

Everyone’s invited.
