I recently had the honour of interviewing Palestinian singer/songwriter and all-round icon @basharmuradofficial for @mykali_magazine. The article is now up! It was incredibly hard to put what was essentially 60 minute interview onto paper, but I loved the chat - covering Bashar’s music, his transition to English-language singing, his rise (and rise) in Iceland’s #Söngvakeppnin amid the Gaza genocide, queerness and pinkwashing, and the politicisation of queer Palestinians.
