This week on 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠, we are unpacking the social frameworks that continue to influence brand storytelling with creative strategist @lenarzky . In her op-ed, Zhedy questions the mental mechanisms at play in the fashion industry that lead us to expect Afro-creatives to always position themselves as celebrating and honouring their heritage. She invites us instead to deconstruct this psyche and engage with the “𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙮,” as developed by 𝗘𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 in 𝙋𝙤𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. 🔗 Link in bio for full story

Stephen Tayo (@stephen.tayo) and Zhedy (@lenarzky) tell us about their short film ‘Il Faut Un Village’ and the love it shows to both African football and Ivorian culture. “I felt an artistic responsibility to make sure the Ivorian people shined. It was important to capture the moment and celebrate them,” says Tayo, who was inspired both the collective excitement of AFCON in Abidjan and the city’s creative energy. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦: 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝙒𝙚𝙙𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝟮𝟱𝙩𝙝, 𝟮𝙥𝙢 — 𝟯:𝟯𝟬𝙥𝙢 — 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙅𝙚𝙪𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 @unionjeunesseinternationale 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 — 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 . What happens when we look to the past not to replicate it, but to reimagine the present? How can ancestral knowledge and archival gestures become tools for decolonising our creative practices and reshaping cultural identities — on our own terms? This conversation brings together artists, designers, and thinkers whose work engages the archive as a living space — through textile, moving image, memory, and everyday practice. Together, we explore how remembering becomes a radical act of rooting, and how stories carried through generations can help us build futures that feel like home. We’re honored to share this moment with three brilliant voices: ✺ @erickakabera — Artist & Founder of @btwnhumans ✺ @anilpadia — Designer @yoshita1967 & Filmmaker ✺ @m_ariehbt — Multidisciplinary Strategist and Founder @archives.ivoire More than a panel — it’s a return. A quiet gesture toward memory as method, and presence as practice. A space to honour what was, question what is, and imagine otherwise. A shared moment to gather, to listen, and to begin again — differently. Discussion moderated by @lenarzky #ReclaimingArchives #PLATFORMTalks #UnionJeunesseInternationale #FashionPanelTalk #PFW
