Manty Dance Small Group 2022-2023

💃: Manty Dances Team Grace
🧠: @rileychristine.dance
🎵: Vienna By Billy Joel

As I head into my junior year of college I am feeling extremely nostalgic and grateful for the opportunities the dance world has brought me, one of those being able to choreograph for teams I was apart of.

This piece broke boundaries for myself and the team physically, mentally and emotionally. Reflecting back I often think about how we once didn’t feel as if we were a team at all, but after lots of trust and determination this piece ended up going down in history as once of my most successful dances. Yes it was exhilarating to have done so well with this piece in the competition world, but it is an even better feeling to experience the growth we made as a team, as friends, and as dancers.

Although all of these dancers and I are now on our own paths, I am so grateful to know that no matter where any of us are, every time this song plays none of us hesitate to think about the time we thought there was no “Vienna” waiting for us. Little did we know there was, and I’m sure all of us now know that there always will be.
