🚨 MATCH RESULT 🚨

Today marked the halfway point of our Women’s team West 1 league campaign, and it was great to come up against familiar rivals Annan and see just how far we’ve come since being promoted.

We’ve faced plenty of big, physical challenges this season, and today was another tough battle from both sides. However, it was great to see the progression we’ve made as a team and gives us confidence going into the second half of the season, knowing we’re still very much competing for a strong finish in the league table.

A huge thank you to everyone on the sideline today. The support you give us, especially when things don’t go to plan or mistakes happen, makes such a difference and never goes unnoticed.

And to the Lenzie girls, what a shift! We took a lot from last week’s game against Oban, learning how to front up physically, put our heads down and keep battling through the tough moments. Today, we showed that again, but also had the confidence to move the ball, trust our teammates and let our backs do what they do best.

Plenty to take from today as we head into the second half of the league as well as into the cup run.

❤️💙💛

🏆PLAYER OF THE MATCH🏆

What a way to get our first league win of the season!

After Sunday’s home victory against Bishopton, our POTM Ellie shared her thoughts on the game:

“It was great to get the first win of the season under our belt, and we are now starting to settle into the more competitive West 1 League. I think we made significant improvements from previous weeks and our cohesion as a team stood out today.

The effort and physicality was rewarded by the final score, but as always there are areas to work on at training and execute better at our next game. The girls did good 🤘”

A brilliant team performance, plenty of hard work, and our first league win to show for it!

Well done, girls! 💙💛❤️

PLAYER OF THE MATCH | MOLLY

A huge congratulations to Molly, our Player of the Match from Sunday’s league opener against Hills 2s! 👏

Molly reflected on the game:

“It was really good to get the season started with such a competitive game! Moving up to West 1 was definitely a new challenge, but I think we started the game really well and managed to hold our own against quite a tough opposition. I’m really proud of the team!

Despite the loss, I think we pushed Hills and showed what we are capable of, and I’m looking forward to developing this with the team further as we get more into the season!”*

A brilliant performance from Molly and a great showing from the whole team as we take on the challenge of West 1 this season.❤️💛💙

🌟 Molly is currently available to sponsor! 🌟

Player sponsorship opportunities are still available for the season, giving local businesses and supporters the chance to get behind our players and support Lenzie Women’s Rugby.

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH | STEWARTRY

Our first away fixture in West 1, with plenty for the girls to take away from the 80 minutes.

Well done to our Player of the Match, Lucy, who put in a great shift!

“Our first away game in West 1 was always going to be a challenge, coming up against a very physical and experienced Stewartry side.

The score obviously wasn’t what we wanted from the game, but I think it’s important to acknowledge that there were some good moments throughout. The girls worked hard for the whole game and created two really well-worked tries.

Lots to take away from this game, but now we put it behind us and get ready to take on Bishopton at home this Sunday!”

Onto Bishopton, this Sunday🫡💙❤️
