Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is over now and I still haven't fully processed that.
This is by far my favourite play I have ever acted in. From the script to the costumes over to the scenery and the props, everything was so incredibly fun and people were so insanely dedicated that we pulled off the most insane shit ever in the span of 3 months.
I feel like everyone has grown so much during this time and especially the @edg.bielefeld as a group has grown closer than ever before during the time I have been there.
I never felt so connected to everyone and I never had so many people in my life that I can call friends.
These people, everyone involved, have made thus experience so wonderful and I thank every single one of the members from the bottom of my heart!
And oh God do I love Dirk, wow. At the beginning I was honestly not entirely sure about playing him, if I am being honest and I was even ready to give him up. But now he turned into my favourite character I have ever played. I was able to make him my own, give him my own little characteristics, expressions, feelings and thoughts and I love him dearly. I also never played a character who is so "fashionable" and I wish I could dress like this all the time haha
Anyways...
I love the EDG so much and though things are changing now, I am positive that we have so many more wonderful adventures ahead of us and memories to make🫶🏻

Everything is connected, especially us🦆🌟

And just like that the first ever EDG+ production comes to a close. And not only that but also the first ever international production of The Satyricon and the first time with me as a director and the first time in EDG history having a playwright specifically come to Bielefeld to watch us perform. So many first times, it still feels so surreal to me. ✨
I am so proud of everyone in this production. I have no idea how we managed to rehearse such a long play in such a short amount of time. Thank you for all your dedicated work! You're all incredible! Thank you for making my dream a reality! 🫶🏻

✨ IT WAS I, THE GREAT MAGE STEVE ✨

It was such a blast getting to portray the mightiest of mages and the red dragon head this semester in #SheKillsMonsters ✨
We all worked so hard on bringing this absolutely ridiculous play to life and I'm so proud of what we accomplished. Joining @edg.bielefeld this semester was one of the best decisions I ever made and I'm so happy I got to know so many incredibly talented and amazing people this way. Can't wait to see and (hopefully) be a part of whatever theatrical shenanigans the EDG will get themselves into next semester.

I will miss you, Steve. Never forget: You are the greatest mage and you do not want an STD.

OH, THE VILE POISON 🤢👻

It was such a fun challenge coming up with my very own character and even co-writing a scene for this play. While I was only on stage for a short time this semester, I really enjoyed playing Alphonse and increasing the character's unhingedness for every performance, just like the food poisoning make-up got more intense every time we performed. Once again, I feel so blessed to have had the chance to share the stage with such talented people 🫶🏻 I'll miss Alphonse and his comfy bath robe as well as yelling at people about the fishy mensa menu and I think it'll take some time for me to lose the urge of slapping the tray out of people's hands when they decide to go for THE VILE POISON in the mensa ✨

Part 8 of 8 in our Throwback Marathon: ‘She Kills Monsters.’ This play, a journey into a fantastical world, was brought to life not just by the actors on stage, but also by the amazing backstage crew. While the pictures we share today don’t fully capture the extent of their hard work, they do give a glimpse of the incredible people behind the scenes. Their dedication and teamwork were crucial in creating this immersive fantasy experience. We’re overflowing with gratitude for every individual who contributed to making this production a remarkable success. Their passion and commitment to the art of theatre truly made this play a standout. (SuSe2023) ____________________________________________________
