🤩 Sêr Cymreig yng Ngwobrau @thestageuk Debut Awards' Welsh stars

Pob lwc i’r talentau creadigol o Gymru sydd wedi’u henwebu yng ngwobrau @thestageuk Debut Awards y penwythnos hwn. Mewn cydweithrediad â @netflix, mae’r gwobrau’n dathlu artistiaid theatr y dyfodol.

Mae @leo.drayton wedi’i enwebu am Ysgrifennu Gorau gyda Dynolwaith, cynhyrchiad @shermantheatre a @cwmnifranwen. Mae’r monolog pwerus a phersonol, a berfformir gan Leo, yn archwilio ei daith fel dyn traws.

Hefyd yn y categori yma mae Chris Ashowrth-Bennion am The Red Rogue of Bala gan @theatrclwyd, comedi tanllyd yn llawn chwedloniaeth Gymreig.

Mae'r actor ifanc @dylanmalyn wedi’i enwebu am wobr Perfformiad Gorau am ei berfformiad 'hyfryd o wirion' fel Dill yn To Kill a Mockingbird @leedsplayhouse.

Ac mae @michellemcternan wedi’i henwebu am ei gwaith ar HOP — The Hopeful Hare @swanseagrandinsta, lle camodd i rôl y cyfarwyddwr am y tro cyntaf.

Pob lwc i bawb 🏆

Best of luck to all the creative talent from Wales nominated at @thestageuk Debut Awards this weekend. In association with @netflix, the awards celebrate the theatre creatives of the future.

@leo.drayton is nominated for Best Writer for Dynolwaith, a @shermantheatre and @cwmnifran production. Performed by Leo, the powerful and deeply personal monologue explores his journey as a trans man.

Also nominated in this category is Chris Ashowrth-Bennion for his play The Red Rogue of Bala at @theatrclwyd, a fiery comedy full of Welsh mythology.

Actor @dylanmalyn is nominated for his 'goofily gorgeous' performance as Dill in the celebrated production To Kill a Mockingbird @leedsplayhouse.

And @michellemcternan is nominated for her work on HOP — The Hopeful Hare @swanseagrandinsta, which marked her directorial debut.

Best of luck to everyone 🏆

Described by Folding Rock Magazine as "a riotous, textured collection of local voices", The Book of Cardiff takes us from the Papal visit of 1982, to the slayer of the mythical Llanishen Bear (famed from an early Facebook hoax), to a future in which the city no longer exists! This anthology mixes some of Cardiff's most exciting contemporary writing with classic short stories from Dannie Abse and Leonora Brito.

"This anthology proves that Cardiff's greatest strength is its people. Messy, imaginative, defiant, and endless worth writing about." – The Edit Wales

Edited by Isabella Barber and Martha O'Brien
Featuring: Dannie Abse, Declan Andrews, Hanan Issa, Martha O'Brien, John L. Williams, Leonora Brito, Leo Drayton (translated by Magred Elen Wiliam), Emma Harney, Jon Blake, Deborah Kay Davies and Alistair Reynolds.

"Essential reading for anyone wishing to understand the modern heart of Wales." – Buzz Magazine
