Was really happy to squeak this one out at the end of the day. Only had 2 days of bouldering in squamish so time was pretty tight but somehow managed to fight through it with damp holds and no skin. Thank you to @cold.oatmeal_ for filming, and @leo_wolfe for helping out with the beta and lending a pad!

Today, we say goodbye to @leo_wolfe, a local crusher who has been a regular member and setter at the gym from its very beginning. Leo's climbs taught us all something about movement and climbing. From tensioney, lock-off boulders and delicate slabs to shifty hip sequences and coordination moves, Leo leaves behind a big hole in our hogtown hearts. Our team will miss your good vibes and thoughtful spirit. Thank you for everything, Leo! Best of luck on your next chapter!

Heads up! Central is being reset next! This traditional blue v8 was set by our one and only @leo_wolfe and climbed by @andy.routesetter. This climb was chosen as Boulder of the Week for Central's current set and will be gone this coming Monday. Happy climbing!

White Dwarf Sim V9 – Hogtown Boulders

Means a lot to me because I want to try the real thing in the near future.

@leo_wolfe set this, and said I could flash. I did not in fact flash, it took an hour, and I barely sent before the gym closed.

The real White Dwarf at Smuggler’s Notch is V12, so I’m just gonna assume it’s gonna take longer than 1 hour, but there won’t be an annoyed employee at Smuggs who’s gonna kick me out (thanks again for letting us stay a little over).

So psyched.

The end of an era! My time at Hogtown Boulders is coming to coming to a close. It still hasn’t really hit me. I am off to Montreal in one week! I’ve got to brush up my French… It will be my first time leaving Toronto!

Getting to work at Hogtown was a blessing; I made mistakes, learned, collaborated with the best, put up many chossy blocs, and pulled + laughed + cried hard. I will miss this community so so much. I made some of my best friends at Hogtown Boulders.

I am a very different person than when I first walked into this gym; More confident and much happier. Without Hogtown, I would not be where I am. I am lucky to have some awesome bosses that trusted me, listened to me, and let me go out and explore new opportunities.

As sad as I am to leave home, I am very excited to experience a new city and get out of my comfort zone. Onto this next chapter!

Already the end of this comp season 🎉 🛠️🍕

This comp season has been amazing in so many ways! Watching the kids get stronger and stronger every session was wild. Not only are these kids insane climbers, but they’re wonderful people as well. Every session was a perfect balance of focus and foolery (sometimes the latter overtook). Coaching this team has brought me so much joy and purpose. I’ll miss each one of them so much. I am excited to see them accomplish great things. Keep working hard and have fun while you’re at it ❤️ See you guys soon!
