After 16 years @2020camera_rental is closing its doors, both in Montana and Marina Del Rey. The inconsistency of the business has become untenable, and after long consideration this is the right decision.
We had no intentions of starting a rental house in 2010 when Simon Thirlaway and I combined just enough gear to form one small Red One package. As a matter of fact, for four years while we were based in his backyard, our first two rules were both “we are not a rental house”. But we grew. I was a focus puller at the time, working with Simon and others. He was primarily shooting commercials and music videos. A small group of ACs and DPs joined us. Mary Funsten. Jeremiah Pitman. Steve Chivers. Jordan Levy. Pablo. Eli. A few others. Friends and family only.
Then we made the leap to a larger space, sharing rent with John Connor’s company XS camera. The jobs got bigger and layered. Clients spiderwebbed. Still, we fought to keep the friends and family care and quality. Our team grew. Merritt, Martin, Chuck, Luke, Tim, Scott, Mariana, Amaya. We opened up a Montana location and hired Karl. Producers, directors, DPs and ACs trusted us and we are forever grateful.
We helped friends make movies and commercials, finding ways to boost them creatively and help their careers. Thousands of rentals, from tiny Music Videos to movies and TV shows in multiple states. Moving up to DP, I could think creatively without the full restrictions of the budget. From Documentaries with @lesley_chilcott to my first TV Show, Drunk History, 20/20 allowed me an amazing creative freedom. Much of that was owed to the amazing team that we had put together. Independent thinkers with an ownership mentality, trained at top rental houses.
There is no way to list everyone that contributed meaningfully to our unexpected 16 year journey, but I want to say thank you for helping create a special niche in the industry that put love of filmmaking and filmmakers first. We love you all. - Logan Schneider

Feeling so grateful for the incredible creatives in the LA film community who have come together to bring “Feeling This Way” to life. The love, support, and passion—offering time, talent, gear and spaces—has been truly inspiring.
Even more special, my kids got to be on set and witness the magic of teamwork and storytelling firsthand. We’re still working hard on the film, and I can’t wait to share what we’re creating! 🎬✨ #FeelingThisWay #Grateful #IndieFilm #FilmFamily #LAfilmCommunity

BURNING MAN 2023: when it rains it pours!.. Last year, the gift of a muddy playa and a tiny sketch pad (gifted by @santy.barba) combined to revive my days of obsessive figure studies. Three days of rain fueled a wonderful connection with a handful of camp mates. While the outside world panicked, we thrived. @the_juice_boxx will be missed this year, but for those returning will represent and keep the juices flowing XO #burningman #sketchpad
