@leonimalewezi bad habits meme inspired me to make this reel 😂 The struggle of classical singing: spending every day making the tiniest technical adjustments, just for an old bad habit to wiggle its way back in the second you hit record and sabotage the whole operation. 🙃 Something about recording immediately activates my Virgo perfectionist brain then all the bad habits come rushing back. Cue tongue tension & stomach gripping. So, fellow singers: what are your best tips for getting a good aria recording without getting completely in your own head? 🎶🎙️

📍 Château de Panloy, France Just wrapped up performing La Bohème with Westminster Opera Company in this stunning château. I sang the role of Colline, the philosopher — with Guy Hopkins conducting and Stephen Taylor directing. Feel incredibly lucky to have worked with such a brilliant team. What I’ll treasure most is the spirit amongst the group. A whole bunch of opera lovers gathered in this ancient château — laughter and music everywhere, onstage and off, all supporting one another and growing together. Losing myself in Puccini’s music and Colline’s world, I’ve gained far more than I ever expected. Grateful, content, and carrying this journey in my heart. 🎭🎶 Photographer：Sarah thorpe #Opera #LaBohème #Puccini#WOCo

We are delighted to introduce the 26/27 cohort of mentees for this year’s Opera Mentoring Programme! 🎶 Over the coming year, these twelve outstanding singers will receive tailored coaching, mentorship from leading opera professionals, and industry insight, all designed to support the next step in their careers. This initiative continues to play a vital role in nurturing talent, expanding representation, particularly among those from global majority backgrounds, and shaping a more inclusive future for the opera industry. Our Opera Mentoring Programme is in association with Glyndebourne and generously supported by Arts Council England, Laidlaw Opera Trust, Katie Bradford Arts Trust, Scops Arts Trust, Idlewild Trust and Thriplow Charitable Trust. Congratulations to this incredible cohort, we can’t wait to see what’s next. 👏 Head to the link in our bio to read the full press release.  #globalmajority #harmonyindiversity #operamentoring
