What a lovely surprise!
I randomly came across a review of my solo show @wholyhelga from my time at @leparisfringe, written by @jotomalin — and I had no idea it existed! 💛

Helga spotted you in the audience, @jotomalin, and thought, “Hmm…"

Thank you for coming to the show and for this beautiful review!

Good news!

Last month, Under Control won two awards at @leparisfringe!

The awards are Thessaloniki Fringe Award and Stockholm Fringe's Baltic Nordic Fringe Network Tour Ready Award. Meaning I hope I'll be performing the show at these two festivals next year.
Stockholm Fringe jury said the award is "for delivering a captivating, unexpected, and cleverly crafted solo show that tackles the pressures of modern life."

I am very happy and grateful to the audiences, both juries, the festival organizers, all the lovely people I met and the old friends I got to hang out with for a bit again.

Thank you to friends who helped me translate and learn the French text as well as answered all my questions: Urška Kamenšek, @masainjazbec, @gaetanrusquet and @lilou_des_bois.

And of course, thank you to Anja @bezlova and Uroš Kaurin for helping me make the show, to Andrej Firm (@androaparatus) and @spelaskulj for teching and good company, and to the producers, Moment (@gt22_maribor) and Via Negativa (@vntheatre) who were so, so important in the show's (and my) growth and who trusted me way before I had anything to show.

Woohoo!

#MusicalTheater | Assassins by The Big Funk Company

✶ Glimpses from the rehearsals of Assassins: a satire on ambition, fame, and the limits some are willing to cross for a place in History…
As part of the closing event of the Transatlantic Theater Lab, @thebigfunkcompany presents “Assassins,” a musical by Stephen Sondheim exploring the lives and fates of those who assassinated (or tried to) American presidents.

◎ FRIDAY OCT 2 & SATURDAY OCT 3 | 8PM
⏱ Running time: 1h30
📍 Fondation des États-Unis, 15 Boulevard Jourdan, Paris 14e (direct access from the boulevard)

Through a biting, off-kilter satire, this work-in-progress reinterpretation digs into the American Dream and the lengths some are willing to go to carve their name into History. As the selected company for this year’s Transatlantic Theatre Lab, the Big Funk Company presents this work as the completion of a month’s residency at the FEU.

La Réveilleur/euse ✶ The Awakener is awarded to a forward thinking work that does not compromise its own voice by @fondationusa at @leparisfringe

Mille mercis ♥︎ to look forward is always to look back and sideways into alternative strands of time, in which the Mothman of 1960s West Virgina, much like Ancient Irish poets/filídh, brings unwanted prophecies of change

Thank you to @leparisfringe for four fabulous days of theatre, shows, and other such nonsense! I managed to see five shows, one 7-film festival, and experience one interactive piece.

My favorite piece was “le grand A” by @cie.cafard I’m definitely going to be keeping my eye on them in the future (and you should too!) Honorable mentions to “Deepfake” by @404theater, which was horrifying and exceptionally well-executed, and “The Ultimate Bubble Show” by Ray Bubbles, because who doesn’t love bubbles?

See you next year!
