@labiennale Architettura Venezia 2025, a little throwback.

Together with @richipetrini, we worked on the installation Unpredictable Atmosphere as a multichannel web interactive space, where strips of data on outliers — hurricanes that deviate from the statistical median pattern — were excluded from contemporary AI climate models. We unfolded them in space to question this growing tendency of synthetic systems to ignore extreme events, collapsing into an infinite series of modeling practices.

Thanks to audio designer @lero____ , who worked with recordings from data centers, satellites, and transmission frequencies, carefully shaping the soundscape; to @chiararebolino for the graphics and the direction of the visual storytelling within the exhibition table; and to @alessia.rapetti for the care in drawing and designing the table itself.

Behind the scenes, a big thanks to @chxdahmen for his support with the fluid dynamics simulation, and to @joppemassant who, like a wizard, made possible all the AI modeling of storms collected in the full dataset streamed in the space.

Special thanks to @mt.crm for his thoughtful video report and editing of this installation video.

And again, a unique thanks to @richipetrini , who designed this installation with me and coded a beautifully complex and branched web space where all the information has been unfolding over the past year.

Proud to share that I have been invited to be part of the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale 2025, curated by @crassociati !

Unpredictable Atmosphere will unfold at @labiennale as a climate model—an experiment in reimagining uncertainty through mediums, data, and shifting perspectives.

For those who know me, this project has shaped my research and, more than anything, become a beautiful passion over the past years. I couldn’t be happier to be making this happen with a magic team of friends and collaborators!

hear the voice of typography

The project wants to bring young generations closer to opera, through the creation of a performative space where students can perform famous opera songs.

Thanks to posters containing part of the lyric, and through the use of an expressive typography the reader will helped to modulate the voice and follow the melody.

A partire dal 1945, e per tutto il boom economico, il territorio della diocesi Ambrosiana e i limitrofi si sono arricchiti di chiese – nella sola Milano ne sono state edificate più di 300. Gli spazi sono stati in quel momento storico espressione della sperimentazione di noti architetti. Oggi, attraverso il lavoro di 12 studenti di Fotografia all’interno del corso di Fotografia di Architettura tenuto da Alberto Sinigaglia (@albsinigaglia ), si tenta di indagare attraverso le immagini le note opere degli architetti tra le città di Milano, Varese e Pavia. Incomplete itinerary – 24 contemporary churches in Lombardy disegna un itinerario che vuole condurre ad un percorso non prettamente ordinario.
Nella mostra ospitata da Rumore, e nel progetto editoriale che le raccoglie, si è guidati da una mappa geografica che localizza gli edifici ecclesiastici nelle tre aree esplorate descrivendo l’incompleto itinerario da seguire.

Since 1945 and throughout the great economic boom, the Ambrosian diocese's land and its surroundings were enriched with churches. Milan alone saw the rise of more than 300 churches. At that time, spaces represented the expression of experimentation of well-known architects; today, through the work of 12 Photography students within the Architecture Photography course held by Alberto Sinigaglia, an attempt is made to investigate through images the well-known works of architects between the cities of Milan, Varese and Pavia. Incomplete itinerary – 24 contemporary churches in Lombardy draws an itinerary intended to lead to a route that is not purely ordinary.
In the exhibition at Rumore and in the publication, one is guided by a geographical map that locates the churches in the three areas explored, describing the incomplete route to follow.

Sabato 8 giugno, i nostri studenti Gennaro Mungiguerra (@gennaromungiguerra), Eros Gaspardo (@smheros) e Lorenzo Urgesi (@lero____) hanno presentato il progetto collettivo “PROCESSING” al @centralefestival, tenutosi presso la Rocca Malatestiana di Fano.

Mettendo in evidenza come la sperimentazione del mezzo fotografico sia una ricerca in continuo divenire, i lavori proposti dialogano con le caratteristiche del luogo nel corso del tempo. Il materiale – fermento creativo come carta, acqua, metallo e sassi – si trasforma nello spazio, rendendo l’atto espositivo parte integrante del processo creativo.

On Saturday 8 June, our students Gennaro Mungiguerra, Eros Gaspardo and Lorenzo Urgesi presented their collective project ‘PROCESSING’ at the Centrale Festival, held at the Rocca Malatestiana in Fano.

Highlighting how the experimentation of the photographic medium is a research in continuous evolution, the proposed works dialogue with the characteristics of the place over time. The material – creative ferment such as paper, water, metal and stones – is transformed in the space, making the exhibition act an integral part of the creative process.

Il festival “Archivio Aperto” (@archivioaperto) di Bologna dedicherà quest’anno una sezione fuori concorso ai progetti di riuso d’archivio realizzati all’interno di corsi di laurea universitari. L’ISIA di Urbino sarà presente con il progetto “ICOMbenze”, che include cinque cortometraggi prodotti dagli studenti del biennio di fotografia, nell’ambito del corso congiunto di Teorie e tecniche di fotografia digitale II, tenuto da Milo Adami, e Estetica e linguaggio della fotografia, tenuto da Alessandro Carrer.

La proiezione si terrà il 25 ottobre, dalle 14:30 alle 17:00, presso l’Ex Chiesa di San Mattia, in Via Sant’Isaia 13, Bologna.
