A little latergram from the Bosnia Herzegovina 24/25 trips.

Six days pedalling with Sisters in the Wild through quiet mountain roads and gravel tracks above Sarajevo, into the Dinaric Mountains. From petrol station snack stops, coffee stops with Turkish style coffee and warm burek, and the most beautiful mountain hut overnight stay, Bosnia Herzegovina has surprised me each visit.

It’s a privilege to move freely by bike through a place with such layered history. These mountains held the Siege of Sarajevo for nearly four years. Villages we rolled through are still stitched back together after the 1990s war. You feel it in the memorials and the quiet cemeteries on the hillsides as we cycle by (often uphill!).

This part of the Balkans offers a special experience as a bikepacker, where there’s really much more to the visit than just the cycling.

Can’t wait to head back there this year with the Sisters.

Back from the Balkans!

An incredible couple of weeks with @sistersinthewilduk in Bosnia and down to Albania for the Wilder trips. From big ol grav climbs, some chunky descents that seem to go on and on to food so good it warrants a separate eating holiday!!

Always super grateful to help guide these trips and forever grateful for those that trust us with their annual leave!!

Pictures from the second week on the Albania Wilder adventure. 10/10 would do again 🙏🏻

A Wilder Adventure in Northern Albania with @sistersinthewilduk

230km ridden, 5750m climbed, gallons of sweat, oodles of cheese, old friends, new friends and a hell of a lot of fun!

I still can’t believe how beautiful and unspoilt Albania is, the roads are rough and steep. The food is incredible (as long as you’re not lactose intolerant…) and the people shower you with kindness and shout Hello at every opportunity!

An experience of a lifetime ❤️

Beaut of a way to kick off the year bikepacking. Andalusia is diverse in so many ways, everyday is truly unique. @sistersinthewilduk completely nailed it with this route 🤌🏻

A most excellent and much needed reminder of why the laptop hours, funding stresses and the zillion brain tabs are allllll worth it.

Dream team, dream gang, dream place to ride a bike.

Bosnia, Wilder. It was wild, that’s for sure. Bosnia is gorgeous and…hilly. @sistersinthewilduk curated an amazing 7 day bikepacking adventure that I’ll never forget. As is their style the routes were challenging and rewarding …the views, incredible. I felt like we rode places that were a complete secret to the rest of the world. The guides were 🤌. I’ve never been quite so challenged on my bike. So much so, I called it one day, and cut about 7 miles from my ride. That one hurt the ego but I just wasn’t having fun. And 2 days later my pedal broke, and that also cut my ride short, but I wasn’t mad about it. Even the day it rained the whole 40+ miles was the pure definition of fun. After about 200 miles my back said ‘nah, no more’. I’d like to thank my ride buddies for the laughs and snacks (which sometimes are forgotten in your back pocket). Wouldn’t be any fun without y’all.
