40 YEARS OF LIFE. 3 DAYS OF CELEBRATION. A WHOLE LOTTA LOVE. ❤️ To my husband, my favorite human, my forever Player 01… HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY, BABYYYYYY! 🥹❤️ I don’t think there’s enough time, money, or words in the world to celebrate a man who gives so much of himself to everybody else. But if there’s one thing I’m gonna do, it’s make sure he experiences even a fraction of the love he so effortlessly gives. Which meant that I was NOT about to let him enter into his 40s quietly. 😂 So, now that our INTERNAL Hubby Birthday Recap has officially commenced TWO WHOLE DAYS later…I can finally do my best to breakdown why I created SIDE QUEST [40]. Short Answer: The man said no party and I said BET. 🤝🏽 Long Answer: That bet turned into three days of personalized experiences, unexpected adventures, secret missions, meaningful surprises, and intentional moments designed around one person. And because apparently a regular challenge wasn’t enough, we pulled this off during storm and tornado alerts AND SpelHouse Homecoming weekend in ATL. Because why wouldn’t we?! 🙃😂 But somewhere between the custom invitations, the road trip, the laughter, the music, the conversations, and watching his people show up for him, I was reminded of something I’ve always believed: Life isn’t measured by how much we do or how much we spend. It’s measured by the memories we create and the people we create them with. That’s what I wanted to give him. Not just a simple birthday party or dinner, but a collection of moments he could carry with him long after the celebration ended. And if you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to have a Core Memory Experience curated specifically for you, well… welcome to my world. One thing I’ve learned is that talent can take you far, but having the right team around you can take you even further. For a long time, people saw the final product and assumed there was a whole machine behind me. The reality was a lot less glamorous. Most days it was me wearing every hat. Artist. Manager. Stylist. Creative director. Marketing team. Problem solver. Not to say I never had help, because I absolutely did. But the day-to-day responsibility of keeping everything moving usually fell on me. And eventually, that kind of pressure leads to burnout. A lot of times when I wasn’t showing up the way people expected, it wasn’t because I didn’t care. It was because I was trying to be ten people at once. That’s why moments like this mean so much to me. I’m grateful for everybody who helped bring this shoot to life. And I’m grateful for everyone who’s continued to support me through every season, even when things got quiet. We’re building this thing the right way now. Brick by brick. Day by day.
