NoVeMbeR dump … a little late, but it’s been a fast start to December. November was a gentle entry into the frost. My dear friend Todd came to stay and we rode around Chicago and went to all the shows. I was blessed to see Chicago’s finest Cabeza de Chivo, the infamous Cindy Lee, Terry Allen, Kurt Vile, the Slackers, and more I can’t remember. Max and I took some time off work and school together to realign ourselves after a traumatic ICE invasion and the aftermath - which we are still feeling and fighting. Made food and cakes and ate with lovely friends, did a bike overnighter with the worlds best crew, spent a lot of time walking to the beach staring out into the vastness of Lake Michigan and decidedly declared I am a Great Lakes Girl, acknowledging I am connected and grounded to myself when in proximity. I love you all. Hug your friends, play with dogs, and ride your bike!

The north woods were calling… so we hodagged! Fried PBRs snd PB&Js in glass bottles (reverse that), awesome mix of gravel, dirt, road, and train tracks…. Rain the day before kept things interesting and fun! Big thanks to @bikejerks for hosting us, to @mkelutherie_ for convincing me to come, to @jarrod_from_hope for the good hangs and pics, @fattire for the best damn alcoholic sports drink in the whole world, and big love to all the friends new and old for the great riding and laughs @trific @mgherlache @leptoukh @letmiguellive @melrosenfeld @jenaiellner @ultratulip @kirklandmitch and as always repping my fave bike crews @macksbikeandgoods @marygoldcyclery @geno_atb

Still on an emotional high from the @riverwest24 OLF was so grateful when we were asked to be part of this wonderful ride because we are a BIPOC group. Thank you @nattynation for reaching out and making us feel so invited. This group, wow. Just wow. The smiles speak for themselves. If smiles counted for laps we would’ve easily won. 40 laps from team Concha and 33 from team Cafecito and so many bonus laps that were so enjoyable that we didn’t care if they didn’t “count” because the experience is what counted. Until next year!!
