Todaaaaaaaayyyyyyy iiiiiiiiis #legomarvelmonday

This week, my tribute goes to the quintessential Marvel hero—the one who embodies the values of justice and freedom: Captain America! The cover that inspired me is the variant created by the incredibly talented Dike Ruan for the July issue of Cap's ongoing series.

Steve puts aside his mission to protect Victor Von Doom’s ultimate weapon from both the U.S. and Latveria, which puts him on a dangerous collision course with RED HULK’S ALL-NEW, ALL-HULK strike team! But there are some wars not even Captain America can win…

Todaaaaaaaayyyyyyy iiiiiiiiis #legomarvelmonday !!

The new Wolverine video game came out last week, so this week I decided to pay tribute to Marvel's very own clawed hero!
The story in question is the STUNNING *Enemy of the State*, written by the legendary Mark Millar—the author of, among other things, the fabulous *Old Man Logan*!

Wolverine, under Hydra's influence, has infiltrated the Baxter Building and now spies on the Fantastic Four. Unaware of this, Mr. Fantastic convenes with Tony Stark and Hank Pym in a secret area of "non-space". Where the three geniuses discuss Reed's newest invention: a potentially dangerous "Terraformer" intended for wiping out world hunger.

Todaaaaaaaayyyyyyy iiiiiiiiis #legomarvelmonday!!

This weekend, I got caught up in a small LEGO exhibition; that is why the cover recreation I’m sharing with you is one of those that didn’t make it through my friend’s tough selection process.

The beautiful cover by Lee Bermejo (@leebermejoart ) the one that inspired me is one of the variants produced for the AMAZING VISIONS event, paying tribute to the great villains of our favorite wall-crawler.

Naturally, the one I chose pays tribute to Dr. Otto Octavius—aka Doctor Octopus—one of the greatest (and longest-running) villains of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

Todaaaaaaaayyyyyyy iiiiiiiiis #legomarvelmonday!!

No "cover recreation" this week; instead, to celebrate our Marvel brick-themed day, I’ve decided to share a Reel of the latest Marvel set I bought: the Doctor Doom bust (76345).

Victor Von Doom is not only consistently the smartest man in the room, but he is also one of the most iconic villains in the entire Marvel Universe (I’d say he rivals heavyweights like Magneto, the Joker, and Thanos).

Personally, I’ve always loved the character of Doctor Doom (from the comics) because he isn’t a "flat" villain; he possesses incredible psychological depth. In fact, in some stories—even though his worldview is deeply warped—we can almost understand how, within his madness, he truly believes he is acting for the greater good!

I hope the legendary Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal really makes this magnificent character shine!

Todaaaaaaaayyyyyyy iiiiiiiiis #legomarvelmonday !!

Getting back to the normal post-holiday routine with a bang—diving right into a feast of Marvel-themed photos and LEGO builds!

For today's cover recreation, I drew inspiration from a recently released run: *Avengers Armageddon*.

Following Doctor Doom's downfall, Thunderbolt Ross has seized control of Latveria. He plans to use a weapon left behind by Doom to impose democracy across the globe by force. Ross rechristens the nation "New America" and delivers a worldwide broadcast before deploying his forces to invade the neighboring nation of Symkaria. Reed Richards meets with U.N. Secretary-General Renata Riani at the Secretariat and offers his assistance, but she insists to keep super heroes out of the conflict.

After visiting a comatose Steve Rogers, still recovering from his recent clash with Ross, Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson convene with the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Namor and Spider-Man at Stark Tower. There, Tony Stark unveils his new mass-surveillance network, the Ironalert System, which has flagged Ross's operations as unusually effective and suggests the general is relying on predictive technology in his strategies.

"Something is rotten in the state of Asgard... EHMMM Ststo of Denmark!"🤣🤣

Todaaaaaaaayyyyyyy iiiiiiiiis #legomarvelmonday !!!

I was on vacation last week and spent it in Denmark.

In addition to visiting the Lego House in Billund(🤪🤪), I visited other wonderful places—including, of course, Kronborg Castle, the setting for Shakespeare’s tragedy *Hamlet*.

Naturally, what better minifigure than the Prince of Asgard to serve as the Lego subject for a few photos in this magnificent Northern European landmark?

Todaaaaaaaayyyyyyy iiiiiiiiis #legomarvelmonday !!!!!

Since I’ve already left for vacation, I wasn't able to take any new photos; fortunately, though, I take plenty of shots throughout the year, and not all of them make the cut—a selection process I handle with the help of a close friend who assists me in deciding which photos to publish and which to leave out.

Today’s cover image is a "discard" from fairly recently (about a couple of weeks ago), featuring what I consider to be one of our favorite wall-crawler's most controversial enemies: Kraven the Hunter.

Kraven the Hunter, whose real name is Sergei Nikolaevich Kravinoff, is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee (writer) and Steve Ditko (artist), he first appeared in *The Amazing Spider-Man* 15 in August 1964.
He is the half-brother of the Chameleon and a founding member of the Sinister Six. Kraven is typically portrayed as a renowned big-game hunter whose life's goal is to defeat Spider-Man to prove himself the greatest hunter in the world.
Although often overconfident and boastful about his abilities, he possesses a strong sense of honor and treats his adversaries as equals unless proven otherwise. For this reason, Kraven has also been depicted as an anti-hero;The character is widely considered one of Spider-Man's most formidable foes and has garnered significant attention through storylines such as 1987's *Kraven's Last Hunt* (a story honored by the cover that inspired me) and 2019's *Hunted*.

Unfortunately, this character was poorly portrayed on the big screen (the Sony movie dedicated to him completely failed to capture his essence).

Fortunately, younger audiences were able to appreciate an excellent adaptation of the Hunter in the fantastic *Spider-Man 2* video game—a story that, among other things, revisits themes from the legendary *Kraven's Last Hunt*.

Todaaaaaaaayyyyyyy iiiiiiiiis #legomarvelmonday !!!

No "cover recreation" this week, as we held our flagship ITLUG (@itlug and @itlug_lecco ) event at the Lecco UNIVERSITY (Politecnico) this weekend, which kept me quite busy.

However, to celebrate our Marvel LEGO-themed Monday, I’m sharing photos of the display I set up at the exhibition. I hope you like it.
