A little late to the party, but I had to share another really cool project I got to work on with @brooksgurutampa 🎉

Claire, thank you SO much for the cutest PR box that showed up on my doorstep this week with my work inside 🥹 Getting to see something I designed actually come to life and show up at my door is such a cool feeling!

I’m so grateful you keep trusting me with these projects and giving me the opportunity to create with Brooks. It seriously means so much! 🫶🎉

Happy 5th birthday Coffee Bean, my buddy, helper, duckling, and angel in dog form.

You’ve given me back so much of life. I literally owe you my life, so giving you the best life is the least I can do. You’re the reason Dr’s finally took me seriously, and in turn gave so much quality of life back. You have helped me grow in so many ways. Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it, but I am. Thank you for choosing me five years ago, you were meant to be a pet, but from a very young age you showed me there much more we could both accomplish together. I know all these memories and photos exist bc of you. You’ve always been so gentle with your sister, even with correcting her. You love every human you have ever met. Seeing more white hairs on your face what feels like daily, I will never take for granted all you’ve given me. I’ve met some of the most beautiful humans because of you. 5 years have flown by, please stay for at least another 10 more. 😭❤️

April is autism awareness & acceptance month.

At 33, in 2024 I was officially diagnosed with autism (&OCD). After living a life, never quite fitting in anywhere, in a world that’s been too loud, confusing, and not set up to let neurodivergent individuals to thrive.

The first memory that sticks out most clearly, was a gymnastics team fun outing to the ice skating rink. The stereo system was so loud I covered my ears with my hands while skating around. But no one else seemed bothered by it at all. I have always been able to understand animals more than other humans. Social settings are always confusing.

It has been very healing to be able to accommodate my sensory needs now without shame or guilt. They’ve made so many cool fidgets and sensory items that would’ve helped me navigate the world much easier. Grateful to have access to them now, and grateful the next generation does as well. As someone that sits closer to level 2, than 1, I do need and require more support than the “average” person does for day to day living. Will probably need therapy for the rest of my life, but that’s okay! These facts are not negative things. I will continue to learn and push myself to grow safely every day.

Here is a compilation of some autistic joy. Do know, that the lows are just as drastic, but those I’m just surviving through, not documenting in the moment.

TRE has come to a close and the holiday festivities have began on this week’s edition of “a week in the life of a Guru.” Lots of cookies were eaten, trees decorated, and snow shoveled as our gurus kicked off this fun and festive season. 🎄

Happy 4th birthday Coffee Bean 🥹😭😭😭

To the angel disguised as a dog,
You’ve given me back so much of life. I literally owe you my life, so giving you the best life is the least I can do. He’s been by my side navigating many, many diagnoses…and in turn so much quality of life back. Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it, but I am. Thank you for choosing me almost four years ago now. I know all these memories and photos exist bc of you. 😭❤️
