Isn't this beautiful? a true piece of art.
But you know me: I’m against judging a book by its cover.

After spending some time together with The Book I see that it isn’t something you read from cover to cover. It’s the kind of book you want to keep coming back to. No matter which page I open, I always find myself completely immersed.

I’ve learned so many useful things from it. I now know how to tell poisonous plants from edible ones when I’m in the forest. And that’s just one of the countless things waiting to be discovered in these pages.

The illustrations! They seem to radiate a special vibe of my childhood. If you grew up looking through illustrated children’s books, you’ll understand exactly what I mean. There is something incredibly vivid and warm about them.

I must tag @lev.kaplan the project’s lead artist. But it’s important to remember that the book wasn’t created by him alone, it was a collaborative effort involving an entire team of talented artists, writers, researchers, and specialists from a wide range of fields. All the facts were carefully checked by experts, created entirely without the use of artificial intelligence, from the illustrations to the content itself. Everything you see on its pages was made by people.

This Book is pure autumn. When the weather is gloomy outside and it gets dark earlier, you stay at home and lose yourself in the book's world. It’s truly special, like a little oasis in the middle of planet Earth.

Many of the 'failed' inventions in The Black Book are basically just rough drafts for the future -- ideas humanity can revisit once technology finally catches up. The Space chapter is full of them!

And speaking of drafts... check out how color completely transforms a raw sketch. Here’s a look at the step-by-step illustration process for this exact chapter!
