Cooking class with Marni at Villa Ronnaduwa near Ambalangoda, where we stayed for a few days on our recent trip to Sri Lanka. We were introduced to all sorts of vegetables we hadn’t seen before, such as winged beans (bottom right in second photo). Marni patiently showed us all the techniques used to make a traditional Sri Lankan fish curry, with assistance from villa manager Gihan. The final result can be seen in the last photo - a veritable feast!

Just sitting with a coffee and this brilliant recipe book produced by our local community over lockdown, and edited by Karin Hurd. The second most exciting thing, for us at least, is that the chicken whisperer features. The most exciting thing is that all proceeds go to Cary Cares, a charity set up to support those in the locality who need help as a result of COVID-19.
