Stop dragging the club inside and swaying off the golf ball! 🏌️‍♂️❌

When players sway laterally on the backswing, they lose structure, create a “weak” trail leg, and immediately suck the club too far inside.

To fix both the sway and the inside takeaway, stop relying on quick rehearsal swings where you can’t feel the real position. Use this P2 Freezer Drill instead:

1️⃣ Setup & Pause at P2: Take the club back to hip-high (P2) and stop.

2️⃣ Check Club & Shaft Line: Look down and make sure the club shaft matches your toe line. If it’s wrapped behind your body, you’ve pulled it inside.

3️⃣ Feel a Strong Trail Leg: At P2, make sure your trail leg is loaded and strong to prevent swaying off the golf ball.

4️⃣ Freeze & Fire: Hold that position for a second to feel the correct spot, then hit the golf shot directly from the freeze.
Getting to the right spot at P2 with a strong right leg sets up the entire rest of your swing. 📈🔥

Save this drill to clean up your takeaway during your next practice session!

Stop holding off your release because you’re afraid of flipping the golf club! 🏌️‍♂️❌

So many players misunderstand the difference between flipping and properly releasing the club. When you try to prevent a flip by holding that lead hand and lead arm on top through impact, you end up with a high lead arm, a chicken wing, and shots missing both ways.

Here is the visual feel to actually release the golf club correctly:

1️⃣ Hip-High in the Downswing: As you move down to hip-high, your lead arm and lead hand are on top.

2️⃣ Hip-High in the Through-Swing: As you move through impact to hip-high on the other side, your right arm and right hand take over and cross over the lead arm.

That transition—where the trail arm overtakes the lead arm past impact—is what it actually means to release the golf club.

Stop holding off impact, let the club release naturally, and get rid of that chicken wing for good! 📈🔥

Save this post to fix your release during your next practice session!

What am I working on in my golf swing right now? The exact same thing every golfer should be focused on: mastering the basic fundamentals. 🏌️‍♂️⛳️

At the end of the season, when practice time drops off, chasing complex swing thoughts usually backfires. Instead, getting back to baseline technical fundamentals is where the real progress happens.

Here are the two key checks I always reset with:

1️⃣ The Grip: It’s the only connection to the club, yet the easiest habit to let slip.

2️⃣ Point of Application in the feet: Most players know they shouldn’t be too far in their toes or heels, but very few actually know where their center of pressure is at address and through the swing. Using our @smart2move 3D force plates makes this crystal clear—their technology gives an instant visual on ground interaction so you aren’t left guessing.

When you dial in setup, grip, and how you interact with the ground, everything else in the swing becomes easier. 📈🔥

Staying comfortable indoors and on the range as the temps drop in full @levelwear trusted them all season to keep the fit comfortable and functional! 👕🍂

Save this post as a reminder to audit your fundamentals during your next practice session!

I recorded hole vlogs for all 18 at Pebble Beach as I competed in the @golfzontour at @albatross.indoor.golf.centre

My goal is to just talk through the hole without filtering out my thoughts. I’m trying to expose how many positive vs negative ideas consume my self-talk so feel free to follow along as I post these or don’t. I’m fine either way.

(Also how sick are these @vicegolf shoes?? Easily my favourite pair of the five that I own. The hoodie is also a very comfy @levelwear one that I happened to find on clearance at a pro shop recently!)

@levelwear new Fall/Winter collection is built around “Keep Playing”—something I don’t need much convincing to do. Lightweight layers for those cooler mornings, with the comfort and stretch to swing freely and stay comfortable as the weather changes throughout the round.

Layer up, book the tee time, and make the most of the season we’ve got left. 🙌
