JARJUM: Spirit. Love. Resilience. 2026 🖤

And just like that, our little big dream has come to life.

172 people came through the doors of the Ron Hurley theatre to experience something created with so much love, courage and belief in our young people. We’re walking away with full hearts, immense pride and so much gratitude for everyone who showed up and supported this journey. Thank you to @backbone_brisbane for having us as hub residents as part of their festival.

JARJUM became so much more than a performance. Together, we brought to life a dance short film, a live stage production combining contemporary dance, film and storytelling, and a post-show community yarn connecting young people, creatives, educators, families and community leaders.

At its heart, JARJUM was always about creating something by young people, for young people. A celebration of Blak joy, creative freedom and self-determination. A space for our young people to share their stories, take up space unapologetically and be recognised as artists, storytellers and future leaders.

To everyone who bought a ticket, shared a post, showed up for our mob or believed in this little grassroots dream, thank you. You helped make something special happen.

Most importantly, to our young people: JARJUM is yours. Your voices, stories, spirit, love and resilience are at the heart of this work. We hope you carry that with you long after the curtains have closed.

This is only the beginning. ❤️

Spirit. Love. Resilience.
