POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
2nd Semester ✅

I am so blessed to have completed a full year in college and make so many new memories and experiences this semester.

From making more new friends in my residence hall(JUNIPER) to having field day activities between residence halls, helping on a campaign team, doing intramural sports, getting to do those hikes I’ve always wanted to do, spend more time with the lord, becoming a student leader for next year and bonding more with my powerlifting team it’s overall been a wild ride and I can’t wait to see what next year has in store for me.

For my all my friends at GCU, love all you guys and can’t wait to see u guys again in 4 months. ✌️

Overall this meet went as clean as it could in every way. I did leave some kilos on squat and bench but I had no idea I was going to be capable of that going into meet day. Let alone the fact I did not fail a single lift or get a single red light which is a rare feat in itself.

I would say the most difficult part of this competition was making sure I hit my weight class which was 74kgs 💀 I assumed a malnourished gut cut was going to save me by losing around 10 pounds 3 days before meet day. I was wrong. I learned some hard lessons but did not give up. 2 days out I was 7 pounds over my weight class and lost about 3 pounds in that day hitting the sauna and not eating for half of that day. The day of the meet however I was still 3.5 pounds over and realized I might be cooked so I probably spit out 2 pounds in 5 hours and did cardio for the rest and I eventually somehow weighed in at exactly 74kgs at the work of god.

Ultimately, I would never have thought that God would put me into a position of getting to compete in a sport at the national level let alone in college. I am just so grateful for him and my coach @dawson__lifts without him I would not have made my weight class or have even been able to get the crazy progress I have gotten.

Also I wanna thank my handler @leviathan_lifting for making sure I properly refueled my body after not eating or drinking for 21 hours and thanks for the back slaps.

In the end I am extremely excited for what’s to come and it’s only up from here. The greatness will come.

This was my first ever powerlifting meet as I just had three months to adjust my form to powerlifting standards. During this process this just made me adore this spot even more. 3 weeks out I injured my shoulder so my bench training was a tad off so I wasn’t able to control the bar and lift as much on bench as much as I would have like.

Overall, I give all glory to god for putting me into this position to further better myself in something new which in this case was powerlifting. I have always loved lifting and this club has given me something to really work for.

I’m thankful for all the friends this club has given me as they have just as much dedication to this sport of lifting just as I do. I love this because it just really puts me in an environment I can strive in.

I also wanna thank my coach @dawson__lifts. He is probably is the greatest coach I have ever had in my life so far. He has always given me motivation and guidance on improving my lifting in just these three months. He is the main reason I was able to transform my lifting form in the first place. He even helped me make weight losing 10lbs in a week via a cookie diet 💀

Lastly, I am just excited for what’s to come because I know with the sport of lifting you will just become better and better with the right coaching.

Next meet: state champs March 28th to 29th and Nationals in April in Salt Lake City Utah
