📚 Psychopaths Are Sexy:
poetry to end the abuse cycle

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just the idea that your truth exists in the world—that matters.”

Rayven recently shared her story on Brave Hearts Speak.

Afterward, she recorded this reflection about what it meant to have someone listen—to speak her truth without needing to prove it, defend it, or have someone else determine whether her experience mattered.

And there’s one thing she says that I can’t stop thinking about:

“If one person succeeds in any way, shape or form, we all do.”

This is why Brave Hearts Speak exists.

So many women who have experienced interpersonal abuse carry stories that were minimized, questioned, hidden, or never truly witnessed.

We want to help bring those voices out of the darkness and into the light.

Not because a woman owes anyone her story.

But because when she chooses to tell it, her voice deserves to be met with dignity, curiosity, care, and respect.

And somewhere, another woman may hear her and think:

Maybe I’m not the only one.
Maybe what happened to me matters.
Maybe I can rebuild too.

🎙️ Listen to Brave Hearts Speak and hear courageous women share stories of survival, reclamation, hope, and what they’re building on the other side.

And if you believe these voices deserve to be heard, help us keep bringing them into the light.

Your donation helps Brave Women’s Community Center continue producing Brave Hearts Speak with the quality and care these stories deserve—and helps us build creative, healing-centered spaces where women can connect, create, and reclaim their voices.

💜 Listen. Follow. Share. Donate. Help us Build Brave.

💔 The courage to leave.
It sounds simple until you’ve been there.
Leaving isn’t just walking away — it’s facing the fear of being alone, of being wrong, of being unloved.
But as Rayven says in this clip, courage isn’t the absence of fear — it’s choosing yourself in spite of it.

If you’ve ever had to gather every ounce of bravery to walk away from someone you loved… this one’s for you. You are not alone. 💜

Rebuilding isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about recovering the woman you were before the world told you who to be.

In this clip, Rayven talks about the slow, sacred work of remembering herself after years of abuse — in love, in friendship, and in the systems that tried to silence her.

This is what recovery really looks like: messy, brave, and real.

🎙️ Listen to Rayven’s full interview on Brave Hearts Speak, launching October 15th.

Sometimes our empathy becomes the very thing that keeps us in relationships that harm us. Understanding someone doesn’t excuse their behavior, and it doesn’t mean we have to stay.

This is why Brave Hearts Speak exists — to shine a light on truths like these, and to remind women everywhere: your pain is real, your boundaries matter, and your bravery counts. 💜

“I thought I knew better. I studied psychology. I saw the red flags.
And it still happened to me.”

In this raw and honest moment, Rayven reminds us:

None of us are immune to manipulation, coercion, or emotional harm — even when we think we “should’ve known better.”

In our upcoming episode of Brave Hearts Speak, Rayven shares her journey through deeply complex relationships and what it meant to finally redefine what good looks like.

To say I love them is an understatement. Three women from three different cities, journeys, background…yet we share a common story. We survived.💜
