This campaign has been inspired by the concept of identities’ exchange enlighten by the feminist philosopher Young in her essay Women Recovering Our Clothes, analyzing the three forms of pleasure associated with dressing. First is the sensual pleasure (touch) provided by clothing against the skin—that touch through which women experience the texture and fluidity of fabrics and thus feel the joy of becoming one with the garment. Next is the emotional pleasure (bonding) of the relationships that form between women through their clothing. When they discuss their outfits or exchange them, it is their lives they are sharing: “as clothes circulate among us, so do our identities”. Finally, there is the purely imaginative pleasure (fantas) linked to the fantasies of transference and transformation that fashion gives rise to. Fashion opens the doors to a world of characters and situations into which women can project themselves, shedding their fears and inhibitions.
